2019-20 Season

Post by 78 » Mon Oct 21, 2019 3:50 pm

Despite the loss to Northeastern, we move up a slot to #3 in the coaches' poll. I'm kind of surprised, but at this point of the season, it doesn't matter.

It matters for publicity and asses in the seats. So that's a good thing!

There was no obvious team to jump ahead of UMass after Minnesota-Duluth lost twice to Wisconsin (which moved up 11 spots to No. 6, four spots ahead of BC despite losing at Conte last weekend).

Good point. I'm shocked to see anyone but Denver getting first place votes. Looks like they have a wagon this year.

College hockey season is a marathon, not a sprint. If we keep in Top 10+ over the course of the season and qualify for the NCAA's independent of winning the HE tourney, that's fine with me.

I know it’s not why you posted that link, but Hockey East is really that bad this year against AHA?!?!?!?

1-4-2 is gonna hurt the conference in the pairwise. Tomorrow’s AIC game just became that much more significant in my mind.

UMass beats AIC 4-1, after being tied 1-1 going into the 3rd period. :D

A win is a win but Carvy is pissed and he has every right to be. A lackadaisical effort for most of the game against AIC. Fortunate to get the win. This kind of effort won't hold up starting next weekend against Northeastern. Hope MDG heals up quickly and is back soon.

Actually that makes me feel pretty good... I feel like of all those rates penalties are the easiest to correct. #1 PK certainly helps while the team works on their discipline!

Regarding the penalty kill, UMass has killed off 26 of 26 power plays against his season. An amazing start to the season in this category.
