^Maybe it’s the die hard in me but it felt like he wouldn’t be surprised if UMass finished higher. Plus he has Tre as A-10 newcomer of the year.

From the Berkshire Eagle:
https://www.berkshireeagle.com/stories/ ... ram,586651

This sentence from the article doesn't make sense to me. Doesn't Walker have to sit out this year as a transfer?
While those two players were the first two names McCall thought of, the UMass coach said that many of the seven freshmen, along with sophomore transfer Tibaji Walker, could see a lot of playing time.

wasn't sure what coach meant in the Berkshire Eagle article when he said "They give you 30 days, and we can't waste a single one. .two of those days, you spend playing against other opponents" we knew about the Exhibition game on 10.29; this Goodman tweet says the other is Hofstra on 10/20

I'm fairly confident that the author just misunderstood the situation. I don't see why he wouldn't have to sit out games for a year as an undergrad who played 24 games for CSU last season.

^Howard Herman has been covering UMass BB forever and I'm positive he understands the rules for transfers. Maybe just a slip-up but I would love to see an explanation from him.

Thanks to FightMass for digging out a possible answer, although I'm not sure what his criteria is for a waiver. I hope he can play this year. A little more depth in the front court can't hurt.

Appears that new #UMass forward and Cleveland State transfer Dibaji Walker may be looking for a waiver to be eligible for this season according to his mother

Every broadcaster needs to study the map of Massachusetts prior to announcing games this year (radio especially). Gotta get things in like:

"Hits a pull-up jumper from Plymouth rock!"
and
"All the way from the Basketball Hall of Fame!"

To help with visualizing it.

I hope they get a bit obscure. "Carl with the 3 from East Chop!... correction, West Chop!"

More reason to recruit MA more. Players can attempt shots from their hometowns.
