"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Re: Pitino to UMass
That sounds like someone asking a question trying to understand something. I think his last line is pretty clear, if not blunt.

What if John Wooden’s corpse rises from the grave, would anyone want him (the corpse of Sam Gilbert would NOT come with him)? For me it comes down to what Wooden’s corpse looks like in maroon pants.

To clarify, when I wrote "Reputation as a place with integrity," I was referring to the U as a whole, not just the basketball program. I think we have a great reputation and haven't been caught in the kind of scandals that have plagued other schools such as UNC and Michigan State.

He wouldn’t come to UMass when Jack Leaman court was dedicated. What makes anybody think he’d come to UMass to coach?

Agree. Rickie would never 'humble himself' to coach a 'mid-major', even if it is his alma mater.
He moved past UMass in 1975. 44 years ago. There is NO evidence that he would entertain this move.

^ Exactly. This is one of the more ridiculous threads I’ve seen on this board. Screw him!

Re: Pitino to UMass
Doesn't he still donate to the school yearly? Or did that stop? He also had a scholarship under his name until at least last year. While I agree that he mostly cares about himself and would never come here to coach, I don't think he has completely cut ties with his school.
But I do enjoy reading these posts.

For those that are too young to remember, Jack Leaman threw him off the team for "conduct issues". He was later reinstated.

I think there is zero chance Pitino would go to UMass. Pitino could only prove that he was inferior to Calipari if he came to UMass.

Wait this thread isn't a joke and/or started by Steve? Am I losing my mind?
Re: Pitino to UMass
Has anyone ever seen Steve and RTL in the same place at the same time?
Actually, it couldn't have been Steve, given the low mortgage rates these days he's got loans to close baby!
