@UMassHockey lost it’s last 17 games in my first year as head coach. Bottom line - it takes time for a new culture to take root and to recruit. End of discussion. Anyone who expected over night changes just doesn’t understand. I’m a BIG fan of @coachwaltbell Go UMass!!!

At least he gave us enough respect to leave the hyphen out of our name.
If stuff like this doesn't inspire them, then they belong on the list. I see enough hope on at least the offense side to get off the list.

Re: 2019 Season
It pains me to admit it, but we belong there until we win our way off of the list. It has to start this week against SIU.

The Bottom Ten article usually has some great one liners. Pretty creative stuff.

I’ve resigned myself to the fact that UMass will lose out the string. The defense has gaping personnel issues that I don’t think will be fixed as the season progresses. The offense isn’t far behind. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they win a game.
I’ll still go to the games and watch to see growth. I really do hope this train wreck of a season helps them be much better in the next few.

Agreed: maybe Akron for a win. 1-11. Probably not UConn.UMass02 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 8:50 pm I’ve resigned myself to the fact that UMass will lose out the string. Re: 2019 Season
Another player voluntarily leaves the program. This time it’s redshirt junior defensive lineman Charly Timite. I don’t think things are going to get better this season.

It's not going to get better this year. People should adjust their thinking on this season. The product is going to be tough to watch, but it still needs our support. Look at these Saturdays in Amherst as a chance to see the campus, visit with friends while you tailgate and go to the game, visit old watering holes and restaurants in town that you are fond of.
I get it, we suck right now and the last bunch of years haven't been great either, but this is still your school. Support it, even if the game is just a way for you to get back to campus.

Re: 2019 Season
Also agree with IV! I went into this season with really low expectations (2-10 was what my head told me). At this point, it won't be that good, and we probably won't look good in losing, but I'm still supporting the team and the school (though sadly will have to miss Saturday's game due to another commitment). I'm not sure how or why it all went so wrong this season, but I'm not going to worry about it. My focus is on moving on from here, even though here is about as low as you can go. Hope Bell is the guy to get us there.
