Game 2: Southern Illinois - 9/7/2019
Game 2. We might have some rain for this one as well depending on what direction this hurricane goes in.
Hopefully the team, especially the D, can build some confidence in this game.

The weather report out here has low to mid 70s, breezy and sunny. They have said the hurricane will not impact western ma much at all.InnervisionsUMASS wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2019 7:39 am Game 2. We might have some rain for this one as well depending on what direction this hurricane goes in.

Probably not the proper place for this but on the Charlotte TV news tonight they said that UNCC will pay 2 QB'S against APP ST this weekend.

^ The NCAA tends to frown upon doing that.

I'm looking for the offense to hit some down field shots in this game. SIU will be bringing the safeties up and should play tight to the line based on the Rutgers tape. I think we will get those shots. As their D loosens up I see us running for well over 200 yards in this game. I know we think our D is bad but theirs is really bad. On D, tackle better and don't blow coverages. We made a lot of game one mistakes at Rutgers. Coach Bell said the effort was there but the execution wasn't. Clean up those mistakes. Look our D is young and inexperienced. I just want to see the mistakes cleaned up. I can live with a team that's just better than you as long as the effort and the execution is there.

I’m still pissed about the playoff loss in 2007. I hope UMass demolishes them.
UMass Football: 22-3 at home when I was a student.

This is, in theory, UMass' most winnable game this season. My hope is that they take care of business with a workmanlike win. But my gut tells me it will be far more "interesting" than that. This is actually a well placed game in the schedule for the team. At a minimum I'm hoping they can solidify some fundamentals against what is presumably a lesser opponent, and take what they learn into future games.
Looking forward to the game tomorrow and a nice tailgate. Hope the weather holds!

Looking forward to the Home Opener against the mighty Salukis. Looking for OC to have a breakout game and also for Kevin Brown to build off of a nice opening game. UMass OL to control the LOS and West to lead the Minutemen rolling to a W. Psyched to see the improvements at MCGuirk !!! GO UMASS !!!!!

You should also consider the Fight Massachusetts Board's thread has 29 responses and why so many less post here. Your estimate is significantly below last season's average of 10,365.PreecherJenkins wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2019 4:54 pm the home opener has 5 responses 18 hours prior to the game. should we start a predict the crowd size?

I'd add at least 3k to your estimate. Students will make an appearance especially close to mid way through the first quarter.
Looking forward to the game and tail gating as well!!.
Smoking a pork butt now so will have half sandwiches ready while other do some good cooking!
It will be a late night as the temp is around 170 and need to get up to around 200.
Go UMass!!

What is the weather like? My wife is watching TV and they are saying it is raining in MA, hopefully not in Amherst. Need a nice day to get a decent crowd. I will be watching on the streaming access.

UMass went from -3.5 to -6.5, that sounds really good to me.
