Not against BVI. He had 3 fouls.

I know Northern Kentucky was decent last year but they lost their coach and who knows if they suck now but it took them stealing an inbounds pass and a buzzer beater layup to win against a team we beat by 36. Also look at the turnover difference in the last 2 games.. we averaged 10.5 and the other team 27..

My take from the trip: UMass has some guys that can put the ball in the basket. Now they have to play D, rebound, and get consistent and cohesive. Was nice to see 10 assists to 1 TO for East and K Mitchell.

I can’t really take much away from this trip. It seemed to be a successful one. They won by a lot and it looks like they had fun off the court. That’s about all I can take away without having watched a second of it.

Given the scores of the games, it does sound like they are trying to play fast.

Also the water down there looks amazing.

1. the best player has a travel issue

2. the ad and coach basically want no attention, but its okay we are giving you our last 50 fans coachspeak from the mccall about how each player has been having the most incredible summer.

3. they are playing the USVI equivalent to the Hampshire College

If you've seen Keon play you know he's fearless on the court. Not bad in the water either and check out those arms and shoulders. He's ready to go.

Which part aren't I allowed to say? I thought my Hampshire College line was the best one I've had on here in many years

Hang on,

How did Kit play? I mean the guy is 41. Also if he fouled out, I strongly advise the ball kid, not to play a towel on his shoulder, might be coming back at yah!

Kit - 21 minutes, 2 points, 3 boards. No way he could hold his own against Tre.

UMass’ Matt McCall on team’s trip to Virgin Islands:

Standout: Sy Chatman & Tre Mitchell combined to avg 40 ppg.

Surprise: "All the frosh contributed & we shot 40% from 3 as a team. TJ Weeks and CJ Jackson combined to make 16 3’s.”

Concern: On-ball and halfcourt defense.

Almontis wrote: Sat Aug 24, 2019 8:48 pm there seemed to be the least amount of buzz about CJ Jackson coming in, but he looks to be hitting 3s at a high rate. Small sample size, I know, but he looks to be a fluid guard with good length, and a knockdown shooter to boot? "intriguing"
I'd disagree. Unless I'm reading the room wrong. I think Sean East has had the least amount of buzz. Judging by the box score, he might be last on the Frosh depth chart at this point playing 30+ min a game and only scoring 7ish points. I'm not reading much into the points, but if you're playing 30+ minutes it's telling. Mitchell got out in 13 in one game.
