My bad for not even checking the subscription price so thanks to TheInsider for coming through for us.

My favorite thing to read was the 27-5 run. I recall Calipari's teams' hallmark was to throw in a +15-20 point run somewhere in a game then play even for a double-digit win. Hopefully we can see this on a regular basis.

Also good, 18 points spread around the 3 guys that played, but not in double figures. A positive start.

Yep, I'm sure the headline "American team attempts to bar local newspaper from event" would have gone over well

Considering this, though, it would have been very easy for the department to say "while we aren't providing in depth coverage of the trip, fans can turn to local newspaper XYZ for game coverage." But they didn't. Weird.

What he said. Again, someone explain to me the huge difference between how the women’s program is treating its trip, or how much visibility Bell has brought to the football program (which is in worse shape than men’s hoops), or how active Carvel is promoting the hockey program year round, and has been since the beginning. To me it comes down to McCall...now if he starts to win and proves he can coach, I’ll care a lot less. But, given the status of the program you would think he would want to do everything possible to generate fan interest.

The fan-interaction-via-Twitter skill is ranked about 978427892384682347th on my list of what I'm looking for in a coach.

Certainly don't disagree here. It's not about twitter posts from the Coach account.

This was released today but I'm not sure when it was recorded. MM says Diallo is 100%.

I really like the skillset Samba brings and I think he's going to be a really good player here. Does a lot of things well and has a strong , athletic frame. Just need him to stay healthy.

Great to see Tre with the 27 &15. Have a feeling a double double will be the norm for him.

Keep grinding boys!

We haven't seen 27-15 for a long time, even in our exhibition games to start the season. Calgary was 29-2 last year and ranked as the #3 college team in Canada. However, they did lose 5 of their 8 top scorers. They have some size, but we have no way of knowing if their bigs are any good. I still consider it a good sign that 6 of the 8 guys that played were freshmen. They are getting a lot of game condition minutes.

Maybe we are looking at this all wrong.. with the multiple presses and D's.. plus all the new guys, maybe MM thinks he has something and doesn't want any tape out there.. :D

McCall is the problem
He cannot communicate at all...he didn’t with his top 2 assistants last year, he didn’t with some mangers last year...certainly with some players and also with some boosters/fans.
When he was forced to bring in a new staff this year I was hoping that he was going to change his approach too but this nonsense of not wanting any media except photos of the beach etc is just more of the same.
Bamford going along with this and putting some bs out on Twitter is concerning also...his responses were idiotic.
The fan base has dwindled to the Gerlufsen level and they aren’t reaching out...that baffles me. The argument that they don’t want these kids to be judged is nonsense...is it going to be better when they hear/read things once the games start?
The only people paying attention would be the diehard fans, most of whom that live locally have already renewed their tickets, and they want to hear what’s happening...no other program that I know of would do this.

Probably because they didn't even know a local paper would be covering it. Perhaps I'm the dumb one but it was pretty clear to me the entire time that they were not going to provide highlights and an update would come after the game. It was also clear to me that this wasn't a black out as all the talk was from the perspective of how the department was going to handle it. In addition the games are open to the public anyone could have went to these games. The entire black out was a false narrative born from what I see as a desire to be mad at something. When in reality if one read the information provided by bamford and reported by walfish the picture was crystal clear
