Here's some info on microfracture knee surgery:

Depending upon the location of the microfracture and the size of the defect, it can take anywhere from 4 to 7 months to be able to heal to the point where patients can increase their activities and potentially initiate occasional impact activities.

Okay. Buggs gettin a knee scope was the only injury mentioned, right? What about KTM? This matters. He isn't a big factor himself but it matters as to how many big guys we have and how they rotate.
okay, we have games next week. Is anyone else paying attention?

Let's chat it up.
KTM is recovering from micro-fracture surgery on his knee. MM was not optimistic about him playing anytime soon.
I don't recall MM mentioning micro-fracture surgery for KTM during the practice... did he tell you personally afterward?

It’s interesting how differently the women’s program is handling its international trip. Lots of promotion and excitement leading up to it and nice social media info on the first game.

^^ It was after the practice. I didn't know you were there. I'm the one who jokingly asked Tyson Wheeler if Cuttino Mobley would ever forgive him for ending up at UMass. I found this group of assistant coaches to be very engaging. Did you get a chance to talk to TJ Weeks? He knows that there will be a lot of comparisons between him and Ty, but they are very different players.

I'm trying to pay attention, but UM is making it really hard. They still haven't fucking said when our games are.

Verdi is much more of a salesman. I’ve had a few personal interactions with Tory at women in sport day and camp type things and those have been enjoyable. His camp videos were fun this summer too. I haven’t had any interaction with MM. he seems nice. He is not on social media and he didn’t have a camp for kids. It was interesting to see boys and girls at Verdi’s camp. DK was only boys.

The UMass Basketball Twitter account posted a photo of them at the airport this morning, so they are on the way. This media blackout (it's not quite that... but it seems like it) is odd.

My depth chart

C/PF Tre Mitchell backup is Baptiste
PF Sy Chatman backup is Diallo
SF Santos backup is Jackson
SG Pierre backup is Weeks
PG Clergeot backup is East
The only thing keeping Samba from starting SF is his knee. If he is good to go he is the starting 3 or 4 with a bullet.

I read he was held out of practice and they were playing 4 on 4 during the open practice, if I read it correctly. You have different info?

Here's something of a barometer to what we might expect with the VI games: Youngstown State
https://www.ysusports.com/sports/mbkb/2019-20/schedule

They played Calgary twice and won both. We'll play them once.
They played the USVI "national" team, and won. We also play them.

YSU was 12-20 last season.

OTOH, it looked like (unlike UMass) Youngstown returned all 5 starters and all but 1 seldom-used player
