Re: 2020 Recruiting
Articles are starting to pup up on his commit. These highlights remind me of ..........

I think that McCall is most concerned with building team culture at this point

That team with culture better be able to rebound.

Telling quote about Cairo’s character from a game last year.. I have a feeling this kid is going to blow up this season and is going to be a major steal

Pretty impressive when you drop 30+ and your character stands outmlaconte459 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 6:48 pm https://twitter.com/ne6hoops/status/107 ... 73986?s=21

Re: 2020 Recruiting
I know I keep beating the same drum, but we need a big more than we need another guard, especially since we got a commit from Cairo which used up the 1 slot we knew would be available. Pretty likely that we will have 1 or 2 more spots to fill. I hope that we can limit it to that just to have some continuity for a change.#FightMassachusetts

Begs to wonder if they aren't super comfortable with the level of talent they have at that position and also if Keon is looking to grad transfer.
Re: 2020 Recruiting
I've also been thinking that maybe Keon is looking to grad transfer. Although I don't want him to, he was playing great by the end of the season last year.

Re: 2020 Recruiting
PG being one of, if not the most important position on the floor, it doesn't surprise me they have many offers out for the position. But I think its too early to say they aren't comfortable with the newcomers. With injuries, grades, climate, and maybe sometimes chemistry, its possible someone leaves any given year. Just have to trust in the staff's judgement on talent for now and see what happens. Kolton and East look promising
I like Keon's toughness and effort and hope it rubs off on the young guys, and he sticks around.

This is right on point. Keon is very important to this team.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.
Re: 2020 Recruiting
It sounds like Wilson would bring something different to the table than East and Mitchell. Smaller, quicker -- something I think we could use (especially defensively). And I think East and Mitchell both have the size (especially as they get stronger) where they could play alongside a smaller guard. Buggs also factors into the mix. If they do start to press a lot, I think having as many capable bodies to wear down opponents is a good thing.
I also like to think that the staff knows who is going and what they need so I try not to get wrapped up in what they seem to need as it might not be what it seems.
Anywho, Wilson sounds like had a good summer and play a bit. Hope he comes here. Then if they do need another big, I hope they find another big.

Good point Jackson, Kolton and East are bigger and could conceivably play off the ball as well. Not a bad idea either to pickup a pg for another class spot. If we do trap and press, good ball handlers will be very beneficial. With Bergeron aboard with all the success he's had, I'm comfortable with whoever they target. Just want to sit back, watch, and enjoy some UMass hoop for the first time in a while. So far, I love the team they're assembling with good young talent. Looking forward to this season

Re: 2020 Recruiting
Another Woodstock Academy recruit! Interesting,
If we have a poor 2019-20 season, and we finish let's say bottom 3 in the A-10, I would not be surprised if Tony Bergeron is our head coach next year. It's no secret that we're getting players to come to UMass based on Tony's relationship with the players.

Re: 2020 Recruiting
Scoop, lets hope then that those same players don't get us in the bottom 3. If McCall is gone I hope its because they have a great year and he gets another offer rather than because we had another down year. It would be nice to have a good little run here
