^ How so?

I just hope fans don't pin their hopes for the future on the upcoming season. With 7 freshmen and a revamped staff, all I'm hoping for is a more cohesive team that improves as the season progresses.

Yea, let’s just have more hustle and care than last season. Baby steps.

That's part of my concern.

Let’s hope we have a coach who can actually coach and get players to buy in. In addition to the 7 freshmen, that’s my biggest concern...is Matt McCall a quality D1 basketball coach. Jury is out...

In year one he got a bunch of walk-ons, freshman, and a couple scholarship players to play above what they were.. they played hard and stole some games... he needs a team that buys in like those guys did.

I think the Pipkins interview told us everything we needed to know about what was wrong with last year’s team. That was our leader and the guy whose voice held the most weight in the locker room besides the coach, and it was a voice that talks shit about the program. Much more confident about the collective attitude now that it’s guys like Carl, Keon, and Tre leading the team. It’s clear from his social media interactions that Tre is bought into leading his class in the right direction, and the other two will set great examples as upperclassmen as far as work ethic goes.

I’m not expecting us to get a double-bye or anything like that, but I’m confident that we now have a group that will push each other to be better instead of pointing fingers and pouting. Also, between guys like the aforementioned, Samba, and TJ, we are certainly not devoid of talent either. So while I’m not expecting us to be a great team, I also won’t be surprised if we end up surprising.

Seeing the work buggs and east have been putting in while on campus is also great. Buggs may not be a star but seems bought in to do what ever he can for the program. Both east and buggs have been in the gym on Friday and Saturday nights getting up shots and working out

Nothing wrong with some optimism at this point. We have a really intriguing group of incoming players with exciting potential. If you aren’t optimistic right now you have probably already given up on MM. I’m in the camp of “jury is out” there, but I’m wildly optimistic about this group of kids and TB being added to the staff.

I know this sounds like a bunch of cliches, but I will be happy to see them play hard, play smart, play as a team and forget the "hero ball' we have seen too much of. If they do this and we have reasonable talent then we should win our fair share of games. How many? No predictions at this time.

... and everything we needed to know about Pipkins. Hasta lasagna, don't get any on ya.

Pierre wants to be here. Tre Mitchell wants to be here. Weeks' father was a beast for us 20 years ago and now he wants to be here. Onwards and upwards with a real group of committed guys playing for each other and their university.

Fairfield gets a long and athletic forward with a ton of untapped upside in @scotland_hoops Chris Maidoh.
I'm surprised he didn't go a little higher with all the hype about him earlier this year. I still fall for the hype far too often.

I thought St John's was after him. He seems like he has a lot to offer.

Couldn't find a KAEO on Sean East. How many of us, myself included, didn't think all that highly of him when he was recruited. Few offers, had to take a prep year to get noticed, may not be a true point guard, etc. I'm having a giant bowl of crow for breakfast and thrilled to eat it. I can't remember a freshman point guard with this much poise and feel for the game since (I don't have an answer, maybe Chris Lowe).

20 assists and 2 turnovers in his first 3 college games. Are you kidding me!! The 80 footer was dessert, almost like a higher power saying "you've worked hard and done all the right things so here's a little gift for you!".
