End the southern swing at 10-12...not bad given the head start most of the other teams have.

Not bad at all. Gotta take care of business in conference.

It appears that the softball team is in big trouble what with star pitcher Kiara Oliver out. They just lost their second straight to lowly URI 4-3 and although pitching wasn't the problem today it will be against the good teams. Nobody will reply when I asked about Oliver but now that she's been out over 2 weeks it doesn't look good!

Certainly unfortunate news to hear.

They are currently 20-19, which 5 cancelled games on the season thus far. Three lined up with Fordham at home this weekend... they have a pretty similar record at 22-20 as of right now. The rest of the team has to step up.

They are currently 21-18 (won game 2 by 2-1) and with the tough part of the sked ahead with no Oliver . . . this year has some promising frosh but there is no one in the Jen Cozza level like last year.

We lose 2-1 in 8 to GW in the A-10 tourney at Sortino. That means we play again today after a short break. Games are on ESPN+.

A comeback 7-5 win over St. Louis gets us another day staying alive: Friday at 1:30 vs. Fordham on ESPN+.

8-2 loss ends the season.

The post season collapses for the spring teams this year were very disheartening . . . Tennis, men's & women's lax and now softball in the post season put a damper on all their regular season successes.

Just read the small previews on the new inductees to the UMass HOF, and while all are very deserving, Brandice B, the softball pitcher, was insanely impressive. I remember her name but, 10 NO HITTERS AND 3 PERFECT GAMES in a 4 year career is unbelieveable. The Womens softball program has an unbelieveable history of success and sometimes I don't think the school recognizes them enough. 10 no hitters and 3 perfect games, wow
