The commentators last night had this discussion and they couldn't think of maybe 1 or 2 other kids who've had an impact like he has.

Cale's father had a great interview and it really spoke highly of the job the staff does and the quality school that UMass is. What great exposure for the school as well.
They also spoke about Carvel and the possibility that he could stay at UMass for a long time like Jack Parker. Great facilities, Amherst quality, of life etc. Hope he does

It's been quite a while since keeping a coach for a long time was a priority. I'm all in for a 10 year extension, not that they mean anything.

I know for me, I’m disappointed that they require a Facebook login to vote.
I have voted often without any Facebook, which I don’t even have.

Cale has a 40.5% to 20.5% lead and I think voting closes at midnight. So there shouldn't be an issue winning the fan vote. If the committee watched the regionals, we ought to have our first Hobey Baker winner. Don't want to jinx it, but Bucci and Melrose were all over Cale.

Any old timers have any comps from hockey east? Different positions but the only player I can think of that dominated a game the way Cale is currently playing is the insane year of Paul Kariya at Maine.
Eichel is the only guy I can think of in the last 10-15 years who was that dominant and he only played 1 season.

You were able to vote without FB this round. After the first few weeks of the opening round vote, they changed it to FB only. It was strange.

Officially named in the Hobey Hat Trick: https://www.hobeybaker.com/2019-hat-tri ... 0FG9XKgOmo

The other two are Adam Fox from Harvard and Jimmy Shuldt from St. Cloud.

Makar outplayed Fox and Schuldt couldn't get his team past AIC. I can't imagine Cale not winning.

If Cale doesn't win, we riot. Not sure if votes get released and all that, but hard to imagine him not winning in an absolute landslide.

Pretty confident it's based on regular season alone, but either way he should win in a landslide.

BTW, voting for the Hobey Baker has closed and a winner has already been selected. We will have to wait until next Friday to see who won.

The 3 finalists are all D men. Does anyone really think there is a better D man in college hockey than Cale?
