KAEO: TJ Weeks

Post by Slapthefloor93 » Sun Mar 24, 2019 10:59 am

Officially committed today. 6’5” with a nice lefty stroke and the aggressiveness to attack the rim. Seems like a hybrid between Carl and Samba. Needless to say I’m very excited for him and for all of us as fans.

Welcome TJ!

Your father's story was truly inspirational. Here's hoping the acorn didn't fall too far from the tree!

Tyrone Weeks was one of my all-time favorites, just epitomized the toughness and quit "Refuse to Lose" mentality. He was flat out awesome, lunch-pail carrying and I can only hope that TJ has the same mentality. Go UMass!

Sounds like he came on a bit down the stretch his senior yr and if he can shoot like it sounds he can shoot, well you can never have enough of that.

Obviously the open scholarships and connections help but I bet he wowed staff with personal interections. There are a few clips out there and he's a thoughtful polished team oriented kid with obvious ties. Just being realistic, dont think hes an upper echelon A10 athlete but a 4 year kid who probably contributes as an upper classmen.

If he plays with the passion and grit that Tyrone was known for, he'll fit in quite well. Welcome aboard, TJ. Now let's hope that this is the first bit of news from Woodstock with at least 2 more to come, maybe 3 or 4.

None of this will matter much without a ready to start PG, and a quality backup.

A team with talent but no point guard will do better than a team without talent and no point card

Yeah , I think any team would do better than a team with no talent or pg len

Really hope Sr comes aboard as an assistant. His work ethic was outstanding and I think the players would respect and learn from him

He also would have a lot to teach the new bigs. His role in the run to the Final Four has been widely overlooked. He personally took Georgetown's big guy out of the game. I forget his name now, he was massive and used to pushing people around. Didn't push Ty around. Uh-uh. He went on to some years in the NBA. I always get him mixed up with the massive running back of the same era. One of them was named Lenny White, I think.
