Noticed this in Walfish's write-up on Wednesday night:
Minutemen set to take a foreign tour this August to the Virgin Islands
That's news to me. Did anyone else hear this earlier?
We did an international trip in August 2015, 2 games in Paris, and 1 in London. I think the rule is you can do these every 4 years, so we're right on schedule.

If I was on the team and thinking of leaving I might rethink it. Of course, if I was on the team they'd be in dire straits.

Don’t think the guys leaving have a choice
Interesting... So the transfer outs are being shown the door vs leaving on their own desire?

I think the decisions to leave wil” be made mutually, but of course the coach has a lot of authority and recruiting over people is common. If you tell a player he is now the 12th guy and will see little to no PT he will choose to leave.

I think it's a combination. Clearly there are some guys (don't know how many) who didn't buy in and don't enjoy playing for MM. There a others who MM will tell, as minutefan mentioned above, that their PT will be limited and he will help them find a new home. How many will depend on how many commits he gets. It's been discussed a lot, but it won't be shocking if 6 player leave.

I don't think our record would have been any worse if you were coming off the bench...

Probably not, but are walkers allowed on the court? Ha, not there yet but would probably need one after a couple sprints up and down the court.

Hopefully this is a good bonding thing since it seems like we'll be looking at another major roster turnover. The extra time getting to play together over the summer should help.

Can freshmen/transfer go on this trip? I feel like we've had players have to sit out these trips before.

I think if they're academically eligible. I think where players have gotten into trouble is not being eligible.

^^ & ^ A difference now might be that the guys are all on campus for the summer, or at the least, the second session of summer school. Therefore, they are all enrolled prior to the August trip.
Anyone know?

Yes. I think absolutely. Last time they took a trip over to Europe incoming transfer Antwan Space took the trip........ then he didn't play agame until late December due to being academically ineligible for the first semester or something like that.
