Looking forward to this one. Time to start a win streak.
UMass generally plays Dayton pretty well.
Here's hoping that the way they played in the 2nd half Saturday afternoon carries over to tomorrow night!

Dayton coming off a good win vs SLU, but its on a "short" week with the oddball Tuesday game here. Like LS said, Mullins has kind of been a tough nut for Dayton to crack. Maybe the win Saturday generated a little buzz with the students (doubt it) but hoping for a good effort and what would be right up there with the Davidson win.

We play Dayton well, but I think they'll be ready for this one. They're currently 3rd in the A10 at 10-4, but then there's a 3-way tie for 4th at 9-5. Top 4 teams get the double-bye, and that extra day of rest is something to play for.
I guess we'll hear today about the status of Pip and Cobb.
Looking back at the Jan 13 game:

As long as Pierre and Laurent play like they did Saturday, UMass has a shot!
It's never back to have Pip available but Cobb is not essential for UMass to win.
Hopefully RH got the message Saturday...no lazy passes...play like you give a sh*t!

Looking at the box score, it seems we had a lot of good numbers but they got 21 foul shots to our 4.

^ Yeah, there was some element of home cooking in that number disparity, which will hopefully even out on our floor. And if we play the good D like we did in H2 the other day, we won't send 'em to the line like we did.

News and notes from practice today:
-Luwane Pipkins is likely out tomorrow according to Matt McCall, he tweaked his hamstring again in practice last week — Curtis Cobb is still out, and Khalea Turner-Morris is out for an extended period of time with a knee injury.

-We may see some bigger lineups tomorrow after the Minutemen went small for most of Saturday's win against St. Joe's, with Dayton's excellent frontcourt, but there probably won't be much Baptiste/Holloway together unless UMass goes zone against Dayton's spread P/R, motion offense

Hard to know what impact it has made on the results, but we sure seemed to have had an unusually high number of injuries this season. It feels like just about every game someone has been down. Maybe it would not have made a difference, but it probably hasn't helped. 3 of this seasons original starting 5 are out tonight. That said, going back to last season and through this year, McCall seems to do his best coaching with limited rosters. It's an interesting dynamic.

Only guy I really think we will miss on the extensive injury list is Diallo.
Crutcher seems able to do anything he wants against us and get anywhere on the floor.
