Solid back to back wins, as the women take care of business against teams they should beat. They buried URI today (always a good thing) Verdi has significantly shortened the rotation with 7-8 players seeing the most playing time. Move to 5-5 in conference play with lots of winnable games the rest of the way. Go, U!

Looking for a winning season and a run in the league tourney.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

A winning record and a first-round home playoff game and win were my hopes at the beginning of the season. Looks like they may achieve that. A first round home playoff game would be if they finish 5-8 in conference. Right now they are 7th. They have 2 games remaining against teams ahead of them and 4 games against those behind them.

McCormick played for the first time in a while. I still see no real reason why she isn't playing more -- some others at the games have speculated that maybe she is "un-coachable" or perhaps she doesn't fit the system and some are hoping she transfers. It's a puzzle to me. At least what I see of her from the bench, she is the most supportive of teammates.

Hampton-Bey has really gotten it back together. Most of her drives were controlled with a good shot. There were a couple where she went for contact but looked generally in control so she got the call. Hailey almost had a double-double with 9 pts and 9 rebounds.

Until they cleared the bench for the last couple of minutes, the team held URI to only 28 points. URI shot almost 0-20 from 3. Good defense all around for this team today.

^^^
I share your puzzlement regarding McCormick...I love how she has been extremely energetic on the bench despite having her role almost eliminated this year. I was also surprised that Asia McCoy only played today during garbage time. No complaints though. They did what they had to do to get an easy win.

What surprised me was how little he played the bench during garbage time. We had a large enough lead that he could have given them a few more minutes, but I guess he wasn't going to take any risks.

Play Davidson at 2 this afternoon. They will be up for revenge because we beat them pretty good down here.
