I'm with IV on this, an auto-bid should get you into the bracket.

I'm waiting for them to come up with 96 teams (to include conference winners), with the bottom 64 playing the play-in round, then the final 64 seeding after that round. The NIT and other tournaments could benefit from some decent teams from the elimination round, provided they are still interested in playing. Nasty logistics, but would get better NCAA match ups.

Hell, let's put all 351 teams in the tournament. Then no one can complain about being left out. Of course the season wouldn't be over until sometime in May.

they should use a computer to pick the first 32 teams and have them be 1-8 seeds.

^ This info was posted a while back in another thread but I'll repeat that my interactions with him were always positive and pleasant. He's a good dude and I wish him well.

Is it even a full-time job? It certainly isn't in the town where I work, which is only three towns away.

Aghh I did a search for his name on this site and didn't see anything posted. I saw him in Whole Foods the other day in Hadley and wondered if that meant he left Iona then I saw the article in the Gazette. I'd imagine it is just a parttime gig, I don't think HS basketball is a year round job. And most HS coaches I know have other jobs.

He has kids, right? Maybe he wants to take some time off and spend it with them? Could be many reasons for doing this, but that's the one that comes to me right off the top.

I got to know Adam a bit and he was a good guy. I wish him well. A short story about a conversation I had with him. The year that Donte Clark sat out (Chaz' senior year) Adam was keeping tabs on him.

He told me that Donte had more talent than any other guard on the roster for the coming year, but he had to find a way to get Dante to play hard for 40 minutes every game. A pretty good evaluation.
