Young players will always have trouble handling praise and/or early success. Toughest part of coaching is keeping the troops hungry.

Rough game lots of penalties on UMass. We trail 1 - 0 after 2 periods.

Announcer said that it was the largest crowd to ever attend a hockey game at UMass.

Q U is very good defensive team, and deserve their ranking. Glad to see UMass split the series and dominate in the 3rd.

IMHO, they are well-exceeding expectations. For street cred in Boston, it's all about success vs. BC, BU, and Northeastern. Winning record against them, despite a decidedly down year for HE overall, engenders lots more positive press. Rankings are swinging to the Midwest for sure.

https://www.uscho.com/rankings/ While it is nice that UMass is #1 this week, the varying HE and NCAA playoffs settle that, this is not football with top 4 FBS.

Anyway, nice comeback win, and a super crowd for attendance beating bball 3x. People love a winner.

Hard to believe that Hockey can draw 8400 people! Don't get me wrong, I am really happy for them and they deserve it but I just wish the students would support basketball and football too. I was at the game tonight and the crowd was great...the students were lined up 2000 deep when I pulled up to the arena...this was after waiting almost 2 hours to get a seat at The Hangar! There is absolutely no reason the students shouldn't come to these games...they are FREE! Win or lose, they are usually entertaining. The team should not have to ranked #1 in the country for you to come out and support them! The crowd tonight was unbelievable...I just can't help to think if it was the same for basketball, football, etc...the team would feed off that! There's a reason the basketball team plays better on the road vs home...they see 10,000+ at the games and it motivates them to play better. Imagine if they had 10,000 supporting them! Lets support these kids! I just can't help to think of McCall watching tonights game and seeing the arena sold out then walking into Mullins two days later and only seeing 2000 people in the stands...has to be frustrating.

We were ranked #1 playing the #8 team. Not surprising at all that the place was filled up. Only winter sport where UMass can compete for the national championship.

Best hockey crowd I have ever experienced, period. Quinnipiac is the best team we have played all year. We dominated last night’s game and out played them in the series. Their goaltending was incredible and our guys never stopped throwing good shots at the net. UMass is a very good hockey team. Quinnipiac is a very good hockey team. Both are top 5 in the country. We have played the 7th toughest schedule in the country and lost only 2 games. I’ll take that. Still number 1 in Pairwise and back to number 1 in KRACH.

Hey Carvey, my friend 78 didn't mention USCHO but he's learned a whole new language and it's a thing of beauty! 8)

Strongly agree! Great crowd. The student section was especially boisterous. It must have given our team an emotional lift.

I thought we outplayed Quinnipiac in the first two periods, but came out short due to penalties. In the third we dominated them. Crowd went nuts when we scored three unanswered goals.

Looking forward to Yale game. Will get my tickets tomorrow. Hope we don't have a let down.
