Sorry if I came off like a jerk. I was just trying to say that it's justified to bash him for leaving. Hopefully this whole topic will go away. I pledge not to pay attention to Houston BB any more.LS71 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 7:43 amIf you promised not to make it public and you plan to keep your promise, then why mention it at all? So you could say, na na na na na, I know something you don’t know?

You joke but that is a true storyJoleonLescottsHair wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 9:53 amWeird. I heard that he volunteered 10-15 hours a week at the area food bank, wrote letters to orphan kids, and always let the elderly go in front of him in line. Guess we'll never really know the truth.UMassfan_19 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 07, 2018 11:11 pmDid it have anything to do with stealing weed in the woods outside southwest and having his boys act as body guards as he ran away with the weed because that is one of many stories I heard about his horrible behavior

Re: NOLA DUO GONE!!!!!
I know nothing of the circumstances of DJ and BG leaving, other than the coaches that recruited them were fired, and I don't think anyone at that point expected them to stay.
That being said, I could be a terror as a young man and I'm sure I'm not alone in this forum in that regard. Not looking to excuse anyone's behavior, because when you get that scholarship they spell out the responsibility that comes along with it. Would I have behaved more if I was a D1 athlete? Maybe, maybe not. I know quite a few members of the team were involved in activities that were against the code of conduct when I was at school, but no one was hurting anyone else and I don't think anyone really cared.
Young men are often risk takers and impulsive, looking to "impress" those around them. I wish the best for DJ and BG in their future endeavors, and I hope both of them find success in whatever it is they want to do (probably not the NBA, sorry Deeky). I get the "holier than thou" feeling sometimes reading about these guys on here, and unless it involves violence I don't really care and don't think it's anyone's business but the school's and the team's. Just my two cents, everyone is free to gossip as they like. I'll follow them on the court because of their past UMass tenure, like any past player.

Well you DID act like one and in my opinion you still are acting like one. Do you really think I give a f*ck what BB program you pledge to follow?69MG wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 10:11 amSorry if I came off like a jerk. The point is this...what gives you the right act as judge and jury and condone, some might say encourage, the bashing of a kid you don’t know over something that happened what, two years ago?...that you pledged not to disclose publicly.

^ "Apology accepted" would've sufficed!
Re: NOLA DUO GONE!!!!!
^ I didn't mean to be so harsh, but that smug pledge statement and his 'justification' for bashing a kid just set me off.

Ha! It's an injury that's kept him out.

^^^
Just to be factual, the injury is recent. He missed 5 or 6 games because of a team issue prior to the injury.

Of course. Just like Michael Jordan retired from the NBA for a year and a half to play baseball.

Thought I read somewhere that he recently sprained his MCL. Don't think it was related to earlier team issue.
It sucks that things with DJ and Brison didn't work out here, but things happened, they moved on, so I have no ill will towards either of them. Hope things work out positively for them both, I don't think they did anything against UMASS aside from leaving with the coaching change, so life goes on.

Is playing in Houston double secret probation?
Re: NOLA DUO GONE!!!!!
They're undefeated so far this season and ranked #24 (and rising) so I don't think so!
