Total Wins

Post by ZooMass84 » Wed Sep 05, 2018 11:41 am

Somebody had to do it, so here we go:

How many wins do you think UMass will get this year?

I actually think 6 or 7.

I think they will get five wins. I'm hoping for more, but won't really believe until I see it happen. The BC loss isn't really that much of a factor in my thinking, I could see them coming back strong from that, but in my mind they need to win at least one of the next two to get to five wins. I've never bought our predicted chances against UConn, and I think BYU this year will be a big challenge. That means Liberty, Coastal and Charlotte are the only other fairly sure wins I see, and that only gets us to four. The others are winnable, and we'll likely grab at least one of them, but historically are not the types of games UMass has been able to consistently pull out.

Again, I hope this year is different and we do better, but right now I predict five wins.

Thinks we'll have 4 home wins and the road, especially the next two Saturdays will tell us a lot.

If we can win the next two we are in good shape, but to be conservative will go with 5, but thinking bowling this year is very possible.
Go UMass!!

It is just sad that seven years in the high water mark is 6-6. So I'll say 7.

Keep playing this way--2.

FIU most likely a loss.

Charlotte a win.

USF a loss.

Ohio at home also tough-L.

Coastal toss-up (home field advantage).

uCon- toss-up

Liberty- toss-up

BYU/UGA L.

At Best 5 - 7.

For what it's worth ESPN's (I think fivethirtyeight) FPI still has us with 5.7 to 6.3 wins.

That's pretty reasonable.

I have us at 4 wins at best and not because of a lack of talent. Players win games and coaches lose games. Our brilliant HC/OC will loose at least 3-4 more games this year. I mean come on when you need a first down, and it's 3rd and 13 and you throw into the flats for a busted screen instead of a throw down field, what would you expect would happen?!

At this point, if we make 4, I'd be stunned... I'm not even sure we'd beat UConn.
