Re: 2018 Season
Haven't seen this anywhere on here (though I only went back 3-4 pages) but want to get thoughts on the O/U win total of 5.5 for this year. I've bet the over, and ultimately believe we will, but it will be tricky.
The schedule is below with the ESPN FPI win percentage prediction (which I hate, but it's really the best indicator right now)
Duquesne - 93.8%
@ BC - 7.5%
@ Georgia Southern - 45.6%
@ FIU - 58.1%
Charlotte - 82.9%
@ Ohio - 29.3%
USF - 36.1%
Coastal Carolina - 86.9%
@UConn - 70.4%
Liberty - 78.6%
BYU - 53.7%
@Georgia - 1.5%
I think 4 wins are "easy" in Duquesne, Liberty, Coastal, Charlotte. I'd be surprised if we lost those. BYU feels low for me given I think we've improved from last year and won in Provo, but I know they're improved. UConn we SHOULD win, but could be another one of those toss ups. That puts us at 6 right there.
GSU is going to have a good squad this year and I've bet their season O/U of 5.5 as well. I think we definitely lose to BC (who I think will finish second in their ACC division this year), Georgia, and USF. Ohio is a MAC favorite so see a loss their as well. Then FIU is a toss up, but going there and winning will be very tough.
In short, I think we can get to the 6, but it's going to take a very tough road win to get it done, in my opinion.

Re: 2018 Season
Play well enough, kick well, and catch a couple of lucky bounces and we'll be a 7 win team. And we'll all feel pretty good about that.

Re: 2018 Season
I think the FIU game timing is good for us. Heat wise it will be closer than going at the end of the season like last year. I assume also that they will not come home between the southern game and this game. Staying acclimated to the weather. I could be wrong on this, but at least playing in Georgia the week before will get them closer to the temperatures. Those percentages in ESPN fluctuate a lot it seems.

Going into the season, I'm thinking this team will win five, maybe six games. I'm hoping they win six, maybe seven. Anything over that would be a shock to me, but really anything over five wins would be a bit of a shock as we haven't been able to cross that threshold yet. Basically, I'll believe it when I see it, and I'm keeping my expectations low. But a good year this year would be a huge step in the right direction.
Improved kicking could really help us. Maintaining better discipline could really help too. In the end, though, I think the story will be told in the trenches. If we continue to get pushed around, we'll be competitive, but probably still won't win those close ones. There's room for optimism there this year, but again, I'll believe it when I see it.
Looking forward to the 25th.

We can use them to hang ourselves if the team goes 2-11.

As for us getting some "lucky bounces".....we just haven't been that "lucky bounce" kinda team in a long, long time.

Also got 0 (zero) lanyards.
But I did get 2 (two) very oddly shaped lanyards last year.
