I'm a little biased because I really like Leveque.
This isn't like shopping at a store, UMass can't just pick & choose who it wants, they can't attract a quality big man to be 3rd or 4th on the depth chart and never see the floor.

I've embraced the movement to small-ball lineups, and to be competitive I think most teams will need to as well. Better to add a high level guard or wing than to add a mediocre big man who can't make an impact.

UMass will have Baptiste, KTM, and Chatman in 2019, there's no pressing need to add a 4th big man if he's not going to see the floor. Now if we could add someone like Tre Mitchell that's a whole different scenario, as he could be an impact player immediately, and a future star, but the chances of that are slim.

I'm not a big fan of Leveque, or really any of the big men that UMass seems to have a good chance with in 2019. I think the guards and wings they're involved with have a much better chance of being impact players in the A10. Of course that's just my amateur opinion.

The one thing I feel pretty confident in saying is that McCall is now well past the point of adding anyone who he feels is mediocre, or isn't a really good fit. As I understand it, just in the few months they passed on Zdor, Jockuch, Eboigbodin, and probably many more.

Why is there so much mystery surrounding his arrival? Has there been anything released by the athletic department about when he's eligible? I heard McCall mention him during Monday's coaches show, but I don't remember him mentioning a date.

Last day for finals at Vanderbilt is Sat Dec 15 so I guess that he will be eligible at UMass on the 16th.

Great, thanks for the info. The next game is on the 21st, so he should get a few practices in as well.

Suppose it also depends on how quickly his grades are transmitted. Faculty usually have a couple days to finalize grades.

Love to see him in uniform on Friday, and if possible, make his UMass debut.

That way he get's the butterflies out of his system before the Minutemen head to Georgia.

Same here. Get his feet wet. Give us a sneak peek of coming attractions.

Sure wish we knew how RW is doing.

Anyone see him on campus? Crutches?

I'm guessing we'll learn more tonight when McCall's on the insider show @ 7:00. Jay Burnham, if you follow the board, get the scoop on Djery!

I don't know how good he will be, but I do feel confident that he will be better than KTM, and he will be a better match-up against a true center than Chatman.

Does the show still answer EMail questions? If someone knows how to submit one, ask about Baptiste and also about Holloway's injury.

In your honor, I will go hunting around umassathletics.com to see if I can post those questions.

Sounds like boot is off RH and they are hoping he plays Friday! Had a distraction and heard it in background but didn't hear what the timeline was for Baptiste, anyone get that???

I liked what I did hear about playing bigger.
