Wildens Leveque, a class of 2019 Big Man playing for Mass Rivals (MA), is on an unofficial visit to UMass today.
I'm putting this in the 2018 thread because I think he can reclassify to 2018. Freakishly athletic big man.

I know, but we are what we are until, maybe some day we won't (be a mid major).

There's a reason Stansbury's name is often written with a $ in place of the S...

Still say the team needs a big with some heft that is ready to play at the A10 level. Not 330 heft, more like 240-250 heft.

Leveque is #21. Not much competition in this particular game. He gets above the rim for sure.

Congrats to Gould Academy’s Daniel Buie who picked up an offer today from UMass head coach Matt McCall today while on an unofficial visit.
Methinks there is a plan afoot. Buie is a teammate of Wildens Leveque. I'll take both of them, Leveque for 2018 and Buie for 2019.

Here's a little background info on Leveque from the USF camp. It's an interesting article.

Has there ever been any indication from anywhere that he might reclassify back into 2018? I haven’t seen anything so I’m wondering if I missed something.

Wildens Leveque is currently in the 2019 class, but less than a year ago he was in c/o 2018 before transferring to Gould Academy and moving to c/o 2019. I haven't heard anything to suggest moving back to c/o 2018 is under consideration, but it's been done by others before.

So it’s just speculation, gotcha.

I don't think Pierre every officially reclassified to 2019, but if I remember correctly the scuttlebutt at the time was that he would be. Something for the more in tune recruiting heads: does a lot of reclassification take place because of guys wanting to raise their stock and hit with higher schools (and/or schools telling them to do it so they can "fit" better), or do they do it because their current high school grades might not be good enough. Therefore, would it be possible in scenario 2 to take one of these guys as a NQ or PQ?

^ I don't 100% know the particulars, but it seems like players can either reclassify (prior to graduating, usually when they transfer into a prep school), or take a post-graduate year after they've graduated.

Pierre was planning on taking a post-grad year, before McCall got a hold of him and convinced him to come to UMass.

Just from my observations, while I'm sure some are doing it to improve their academics, it seems that players are more commonly reclassifying back, or taking post-grad years, for purposes of improving their recruitment. I don't have stats, but anecdotally, the number of NQ & PQ occurrences seems to be down quite a bit from a few years ago, but I think that's still an option.
