Why would we play 5 guards when we've got 3 forwards and a couple of bigs on the roster? I can see playing small on occasion, but that's really small.

It takes a few years at least to build the kind of program that brings in top recruits. We're not there yet. But I'm not in the least discouraged by the holes in our roster. We may not have the best talent in the league or even enough talent to compete for a top finish, but one thing I'm sure of--when those guys go out and play they will perform at their highest possible level with teamwork and organization. That's definitely enough for me.

Always get a chuckle from his posts -- 5-guard lineups rule!

I agree and disagree len. I agree we'll play at our best, but I also think there will be a much better, deeper amount of talent on this team. Surprise of the A10

Let me fix that:
We may or may not have the best talent in the league
But the main point is, we're gonna enjoy watching them play because they're gonna be well coached.

^^
In other words, next year will be like last year but, hopefully, with a full roster and some more wins.

I can live with that.

Yeah, as was said by many on here previously, last season was a pleasant surprise to see how the team battled hard every night and changed the culture. Team fought back in several games and got everyone's respect

Someone on twitter (how is that for attribution?) posted that we are in the final 4 for that Zdor kid, along with Vandy, Illinois, and Siena.

That’s all I’ve got. No dumb jokes or any insight into the kid and how good he is or how serious he really might be about us because I have no idea.

EDIT: That someone on Twitter is a report in the Siena area apparently. He wrote a story about Zdor -- he's visiting us today and then will be headed to Siena for a visit. Apparently the new Siena coach was recruiting him already at his previous gig. BAM...there's some insight!

How the heck does a program like Illinois have a scholly to give at this point in the year?

^Graduation, NBA, and transfers have left Illinois with five returning players, six signed incoming, and two remaining scholarships for 2018.

Some Zdor info:
https://www.heraldmailmedia.com/sports/ ... b9f62.html

2nd team all-county
Dima Zdor, Saint James: The 6-9 senior averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds per game, hitting 70 percent of his 2-point tries and 73 percent from the foul line.
This was on a team with the player of the year, 2 first team all-county players and another second team all-county player. He obviously didn't get a lot of shots per game.

This does not help us in the Zdor sweepstakes:

Let's just sign that kid instead. Problem solved!
