Happy to see the guys get a win. 8)

I had company so I wasn’t able to watch much of the game. I hate to admit it, but I was afraid that I might tune in late and find that they were losing 56-55 or something.

Sucked that feed froze on NESN/NESN+, but lucky for me that Eleven is channel 623 on DirecTV...no freeze there.

Wow. Pretty close. Using your crystal ball, maybe UMass IS going to the Big Ten. :D

Great day to watch a UMass football game at McGuirk Stadium. Weather was perfect - mostly sunny and in the 70's. Exciting game if you like scoring. There were some fantastic pass plays initiated by both Comis and Ford (Hey, we've got TWO quarterbacks!). Our receivers made some fantastic catches. Plus, there were some nifty runs by Ally and Young. And, the defense made some adjustments at halftime to stop Georgia Southern's offense.

OK, Georgia Southern isn't Michigan, but scoring 55 points was entertaining to watch.

Feel badly for those of you who couldn't make it out to McGuirk today. Friendly Homecoming crowd. And, the UMass Band (which IS better than Michigan's or anyone elses band) is worth the price of admission.

Yea, finally got one right. Umass was really a .500ish team talent wise and Ga Southern is outright pathetic so not that hard to see how this would turn out.

GS fan this morning answering as to whether the UMass Band in pads could beat GS: "I would take the UMass band with the spread. GS def wouldn’t cover."

What a perfect day in The Valley - from the foliage on 202 in the morning to a Randall West sighting under center.

Props to the head official, who kept it from getting ugly when there was a rash of majors, including one on the GS head coach.

Was at the game. Not a clue of how this happened. Any explanation out there?

Great to see the team come out on top. Kids deserve the win for not giving up after a tough start to the season. Look forward to a few more

I wonder if Whip changed his mind to decline what would’ve happened.....ref would definitely have been confused. I also think they spotted the ball wrong on a penalty and gave GSU 20 yards instead of 15 on one.

You can rewatch pretty much the whole game in 2 videos on the football page of the Athletics website.

Actually the tuck rule had come into play earlier that year in a pats vs jets game when Vinny Testaverde did exactly the same thing Brady did. I knew the fumble was going to be overturned via this dopey rule. Simarly, that was indeed a fumble out of bounds this past sunday vs the jets.

^ Didn't a Georgia Southern back fumble the ball forward and out of bounds, picking up a first down? Thought you couldn't do that.
