Would've been better off selling wine and cheese.

Has anyone received a reason as to why UMass is dragging their feet on implementing this at athletic events?

Isn't that the purpose of the Commonwealth Club pre-game?

It's not a common practice, yet, and the fear of seemingly condoning underage drinking. It's not difficult to pass off drinks to your 18-20 year old friends. BTW I am in favor of selling beer and wine at games. I just think the school is very leery of the liabilities.

I suppose the Commonwealth clubs in hockey and football could be test balloons in this regard. My guess is liability insurance plays a role. I bet Meehan would sign off on booze at games - Lowell ice hockey has been selling it for years.

Considering that we use to smuggle in full 30 packs into McGuirk, no need for beer or wine :D Not sure this is still possible though, this is 15 years ago.
