Game 2 (2016): Boston College

Post by Calmass9 » Sun Aug 21, 2016 9:23 pm

Figured we should start a thread for this one since it is our first home game. I'm bringing somewhere between 15-18 friends to this game. Huge group of 26-28 year olds and about 3/4 of them are UMass alums. Not a single BC fan in our group. We're looking at an epic tailgate.

If you don't have tix, buy them NOW. If you think you have friends that may want to join you, invite them NOW.

It'd be great to see the combined attendance to be above 30k, it'd be greater to see more UMass fans than BC fans when we pull the upset.

Fuck BC. Forever and always.

I read a Globe article recently that stated BC was HOSTING UMass at Gillette on September 10th.

One thing about the Globe sports section is I save time when I skip past their daily story on BC football.

Right now, I'm bringing a BC fan with me if he feels up to it. But cut me some slack, he's 89 years old and graduated from BC around 1950 and had BC season tickets for about 60 years. He used to take me to the UMass/BC games earlier this century.

Does anyone have information on how ticket sales are doing for our side? I talked briefly with the group ticket sales person and she seemed to think that the youth leagues would be a significant boost for our side.

If you go on Ticketmaster you can see the available seats, there is a lot of them. I would assume the majority of them are season ticket holders because the same pattern of empty seats exist for the Miss St and La Tech games. For some reason is only shows one section for the visiting side.

They are banking on walk up sales the day of the game, which is why they can't and won't give out a true number of ticket sales.
UMass '10 but I run with the '06 class

I can't think of one flagship (state) university in the country that has as bad of a rep as UMass and/or has a worse state supported fan base so that's what we have to deal with!

Hopefully BC fans won’t be in the end zone like they were last time around. That made it look like a BC home game.
