Great. Now we just need him to commit to us and then grow 6 inches.

Not sure how much it really matters at the moment as it is way early, but he is ranked the #3 player in his class in New England by NERR.

He added that interest from a program like UMass is meaningful.
"They have a really good basketball program, and it's a very good academic school," he said. "(Visiting) was a great experience."
"It means a lot," Martin said. "They look at local good players, and usually a college that good doesn't do that for local players. He's trying to get some local guys involved."
Funny thing is, we probably will be pretty good through his high school career.

Need it to be a snowball effect... Not expecting every class to be in the top 25, but it should be our goal. As we have seen one or 2 years of poor recruiting can set the program back more than 1 or 2 years.

Sounds like a great kid, with an appreciation for the local recruiting and academics. Feeling a momentum building at UMass right now, I think we are in for a very good run.

You're too far away to know what's really happening out here in the sticks of WMass. I'm sure the residents of Eldonville will disagree with your assessment.

Sometimes distance gives one perspective.. Forest for the trees. There's a reason why Warren Buffett isn't hindered picking stocks from Omaha instead of on Wall Street :D

Honestly I see a lot of reasons for optimism, and I've been critical of DK in the past. It's an opportunity right now with great facilities, high caliber academics and the incoming class to seize the day. Definitely not a layup for DK, he needs to Improve as a coach and leader to take HIS game to the next level also.

But the elements are there for a serious uptick in the program if it all comes together and in my view a time for some optimism. If it all comes crashing down so be it... But I say take it up a notch, put another great recruiting class together back to back to back and let's party (dance) for a decade baby!

Hey easy there Swampy, you are located in the Greater-Eldonville metropolitan area I believe.....

No assessment - he is too young to completely go all in one way or another. He is definitely worthy of keeping an eye on, but a lot can happen in 3 years.
