Bah, you beat me to posting this. I was going to say:
Want to see a picture of two guys who want to punch the other in the face?

I can't put my finger on it, but there is something really funny about that picture. If I was Max (thankfully I'll never be), I would start looking for another job (if he doesn't have tenure)....Swamy reminds me of Tony Soprano in that picture--I've got my eye on you Max look--now be a good boy and keep your mouth shut. Might just be wishful thinking.

Smart for Kumbie to keep his enemies close! Here's betting a beer the dick Page is on borrowed time. No inside knowledge, just wishful thinking.

Page has tenure. Unless he is convicted of a felony, he is on the scene for a long time. He is a near erasable obstacle, and the only tactic is for him to be marginalized.rayers wrote:Smart for Kumbie to keep his enemies close! Here's betting a beer the dick Page is on borrowed time. How 'bout this for a photo caption:
"And the winner of the grand prize, a season ticket four-pack to UMass Football at both McGuirk and Gillette is......Professor Max Page!

^ Nicely played there.
The best part is that the tickets count towards the attendance figures, whether they get used or not.

This board should get together, raise a couple hundred bucks, and endow a pair of season tickets to every home game in honor of Max Page. We'll donate them to a pair of kids from local mentoring organizations and have them take a picture after each game. Each picture will feature a kid at the game holding a sign that says "Thanks Max for allowing me this awesome opportunity."

Who knows how to set up a Go Fund Me for this? Someone with that knowledge please do it. If not, I'll look into it tomorrow.

Re: More happiness with direction of football program
Of course the danger with this idea is that you give the tickets away, then some crappy weather moves in (or something else happens), and the recipient is a no-show. Granted, the tickets count towards the attendance figures, but there will be no publicity photo - the main point of your idea.
Go ahead and get the tickets but take the high road and make the donation from a good cause. Maybe UMass will send Max back to Italy for six months. Or more.

We could also raise money to send him on a sabbatical but that'd be much too kind of us.

I'd volunteer to take THAT photo and give the lucky kids a couple of 5x7's to put in their family album!Marshmont_63 wrote:that's a brilliant ideaMarty Peretz wrote:This board should get together, raise a couple hundred bucks, and endow a pair of season tickets to every home game in honor of Max Page. That fat turd John Feinstein just trashed us, while trashing ND's schedule, on a CBS sports minute (which is nationally broadcast all over CBS sports radio). Here's the link if you want to hear what he had to say.
