Good post. I never really thought about all the losses (or to umass fans, gains) that the A-10 has for the upcoming season. It looks like it will definitely be a down year, so it might be hard for any team to crack the top 25.
On a side note. I had no idea that boggans had enrolled at st. bonaventure. The one game he got some playing time at Florida i was at. This guy is a MOOSE. Splitting image of tyrone weeks, little more athletic. I think he was top 50 out of high school. That is a big loss for them.

Bonnies offcourt news today:
St. Bonaventure seeks dismissal of former coach's lawsuit
By JOHN WAWROW
.c The Associated Press
BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - St. Bonaventure University has asked a federal judge to dismiss former men's basketball coach Jan van Breda Kolff's $21.55 million wrongful dismissal lawsuit.
In the school's first legal response to the suit, lawyer Judy Hernandez argued van Breda Kolff had no basis for his claims, and noted that a clause in his contract allowed the school to dismiss him without cause.
In a 43-page document submitted to U.S. District Court in Buffalo last week, Hernandez also asked that the court consider imposing sanctions against van Breda Kolff's lawyer for filing a claim not supported by law.
Van Breda Kolff was fired in April 2003 following a school investigation after junior forward Jamil Terrell was ruled ineligible for failing to meet NCAA junior college transfer guidelines. Terrell earned a certificate in welding at a community college before transferring and playing for St. Bonaventure for most of the 2002-03 season.
The Atlantic 10 stripped the team of its conference victories and barred it from its league playoff tournament, moves that led to Bonnies players boycotting the final two games of their season.
Van Breda Kolff, an assistant with the NBA New Orleans Hornets last season, has argued that he was not aware of Terrell's status. He had three years left on his contract and owed about $1 million prior to his dismissal.
His lawsuit also includes claims of libel, invasion of privacy and injurious falsehood.
Last February, the NCAA cleared van Breda Kolff of committing any violations, but noted that he was one of at least five school officials who were aware of questions of Terrell's eligibility but failed to contact the A-10 or the NCAA.
University president Robert Wickenheiser resigned in March 2003, and accepted the blame for approving Terrell's transfer.

We'll be good because we have a good team and a program that has been rejuvenated and rebuilt. UMass will kick ass this season.
But that simple fact will not stop the negative ninnies from using this message board as a platform from which to take a dump on the University, the students, the program and the coaches.

13-16, 11-18, and 10-19 is a mighty, mighty curious definition for "rejuvenated and rebuilt."VoxPop wrote:a program that has been rejuvenated and rebuilt.

No, some of us won't dump on the university, the students, or the players, but we sure do see some major problems with a coaching staff which is repsonsible for 3 consective losing seasons and shitty attendance.
Attendence is a reflection of the support by the fans and students. So if the alumni and students don't go or support the porgram; some of the attendence problem is a result of poor alumni support not only for the bball program but also a reflection of poor alumni support for the university in general. Dayton has been one of the leading teams for attendence since joining the A10 and traditionally have supported their bball program by attending the games. What has Dayton ever won?
How true look at the football program and its attendance. It has gone down and down and down over the last 8 years. The have had winning seasons and have always been respectable. Where are the fans. Where is the Alumi. Crying in their beer because we are not 1A? Lacrosse attendance not much to speak of. Navy can draw 30,000 at their stadium. Md even more. Johns Hopkins with only 10,000 capacity fills it most of the time. They win too. Softball not much there either. Hockey appears to be a bright spot but no sell out yet and this is Hockey county. Baseball, a big crowd if there is 200. Nobody goes to watch these teams compete in anything on a regular basis.

so, during Steve Lappas' tenure Dayton generally has won in one season what takes Steve Lappas two seasons. Conversely, Steve Lappas loses in one season what takes Dayton two. So...in answer to your question: games.
