Syracuse was very good and had a 6'10" center named Smith and they were suppose to come in and kill us. Julius was unbelievable and we killed Syracuse. Julius had over 30 points and 30 rebounds. He took it to another level and the crowd loved it. It was a coming out party and I think it was Julius's Birthday and the crowd sang Happy Birthday for him. It was a special time and there was a relationship with the fans that you can't explain.

I agree. That Syracuse game tops my list of the best games I have ever seen.
Like LS71 I can't think about that Syracuse game without remembering Julius' pre warm up double dunk.
Thanks for the memories Tom, I had forgot that game was Julius's Birthday

I feel compelled to share. I was back at UMass From the Army taking graduate courses. My father and I went to the game and it was one of the few times in my life after undergrad that we shared an historic moment. Our contact for most of my life was by phone and vacation visits. Shortly thereafter I was back to the Army and our moments together were very few, and never as memorable. I can only echo Tom, Nale , and LS 71's comments. The entire game was breath taking and loud. I was never involved in a sporting event before and after that was so emotional. My Dad never forgot that night and talked about it often. One of the little things that made life enjoyable and memorable.

Every time I bring up Julius Erving, my father will always talk about the Syracuse game and the dunk with two basketballs. Even with everything that happened in the 1990's, Dad will always say that Syracuse game was his all time favorite.

Now to contribute to the thread:

Mullins
Cage
MSG
Conte
Olean
URI
Carrier Dome
Landover Maryland court? The game against the Terps in 1995 we won 50-47.

When I started this thread two years ago, this was what I remembered:

Fordham--Rose Hill
St. Louis' old arena (just opened a new one last season; haven't been)
Seton Hall at Prudential Center in Newark (Hall plays off campus)
The building formerly known as the Centrum
The Bill
The Fleet
The Cage

I guess I should have called the Fleet the Garden. I've also seen them at the Civic Center and later the Mass Mutual Center, at Quinnipiac, and at MSG for holiday tourney in 05 against St.Johns and I believe St. Peters. Will be headed down to the Smith Center for GW game this weekend and hope to get to Liacouras for Temple game later this season. If we win the next three, who knows, maybe I'll have to find a way to get to Hawk Hill as well.

Really, really enjoyed the Smith Center this past weekend. Place is really well laid out and can get quite loud despite only fitting 5K. Also, for what it's worth, there were easily 300 or more UMass fans in attendance, though most seemed like DC-area alums with minimal awareness of the team's actual progress. Still, a tremendous amount of maroon in that arena; most I've ever seen at a UMass road game.

Since there were two UMASS people starting at the Super Bowl, does Lucas Oil Stadium count???
