This is a history lesson and maybe recognizable for any English majors out there:
A Tale of Two NITs
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
2007-2008, The best if times. The men's team was on the bubble and felt they deserved an NCAA bid, which did not come. They decided that they would show the world that they DID belong by getting to the NIT title game at Madison Square Garden before falling to a very good Ohio State team.
2012-2013, The worst of times. The men's team was on the bubble, etc. They decided that their season was a waste and didn't show up for an opening round NIT game in Amherst against a mediocre Stony Brook team and lost 71-58.
I post this in hopes that the WBB team takes advantage of the WNIT opportunity and shows the world that a mistake was made by not giving them an NCAA bid.
2022-23 Season

^ I think you'll want to flip-flop those two seasons.
