Sounds about right, based on the comments on the UConn press release on 4/7/22, she was never going to be more than a practice player there!

Why do they have to be mutually exclusive? Would prefer both! At least the players know where they stand!

Oh my goodness. UMass is here to stay.
UMass adds Laila Fair, a 6’2 forward. Fair was an all-A10 freshman last year and averaged close to 20 points per game in the A10 tournament. This is one of the biggest additions for any team in the entire A10.
Of the 5 players on the A10 all conference tournament team, we will now have 3 next year: Breen, Taylor and Fair.

This looks to be a MAJOR scoop by Verdi... this team is loaded.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

Prior to this news there were two Freshmen recruits plus a Juco from San Diego. With the players that decided to come back for a 5th year, where are the roster openings coming from?

There are 11 on the roster now. There are 15 scholarships allowed so there should be room for the additional 4.

^ The eleven posted right now on the athletic site were all with us this past year. If there are two frosh coming, plus the juco, plus this "new news", plus possibly Tory's post about getting big, that adds to 15 or 16.
As an aside, I wonder how Destiney fits into the starting group. Three top players plus Fatty at point and Angelique make a very formidable first five.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Biggest wonder is will the old TV be coaching them or will there be a transformation of a new TV……looks to be 15. including the 2 incoming freshman…maybe learning from Carvel and hold them back a year..is TV changing his spots…. he plays 7 players ….4 of the returning played more than 35 minutes a game…2 freshman sat out this year…..1 was referred to as the best of the class….the other was referred to in her LOI announcement by TV as having the potential to be the best center in school history…….unless he absolutely over valued these 2, they will need to get minutes next year……
Will be very interesting to see the rotation and minutes.

^ But unless they are a Top 100 recruit, probably won’t be getting much time, if any, like the under 9 minutes a game that the current Top 100 recruit on the roster is getting.

This much talent is going to be a challenge for coach’s rotation. Likes to settle on 7. Good problem to have. The st Joe transfer is an outstanding addition. Wonder if someone might be leaving. Weird there has not been a formal announcement of the additions.

^ Agree! All the starters are back, plus 3 or 4 (?) first year players who sat out last season, and the new recruits means a crowded bench. Last season Coach Verdi typically played only 7 or 8 players a game. I'm wondering how he'll coach next season?
