Another offer, Taina Mair. On the surface, she looks good. Already has offers from Providence, URI, GW and others. Player of the year in NEPSAC, Class B as a soph.

I just stumbled across her having committed to BC.

As I think about it, our main recruiting target for 2022 should be Destiney. I think she has another year due to the Covid exemption. If that is true, how good might this team be next year with everyone back? Has anyone heard about her plans for next year? I know she was recognized at senior night, but that doesn't mean she can't come back.

^ That gives me hope. If all 7 return we have a chance to be a lot better than this year. We need another "bigger" big than we have now. At an event early in the year Verdi said that Harden (6'4) needed a year of development. She's had that now and if she's ready, it fills a need.
He also said that Dabo (6'1) was the most talented freshman in the class. She got hurt and he decided to redshirt her. Add a healthy Steph and a more experienced Brooks and Verdi has some depth. Nothing is guaranteed, but I like the progression.

I love Destiney, I hope she comes back. I was so excited when I saw her high school videos, usually I don't get too pumped about a recruit until they start playing but I definitely remember loving watching Des high school highlight reels.
I think she's already made her decision though and I would be surprised if she comes back. I think she loves Tory and it isn't against UMass but I would think that the draw of a contract in Europe would be too much to turn down and/or potentially playing with her sister if Selena has another year of eligibility.

^ First, to answer Kiko's question, Destiney has announced that she's coming back.

·Breaking: UMass Women’s Basketball has secured the commitment of Kristin Williams.
Williams, a 5’8 G, played at Pensacola State last year in her first season. She put up 14 points per game and shot 35% from behind the arc. She was initially a USD commit.
This is a JUCO transfer. I think USD is the Univ. of South Dakota.

^ She's from San Diego, so maybe she was (or was going to be) a Torero.

You are correct, it was Univ. of San Diego. She had quite a high school career:
High School: played at Christian High School under Coach Vickie Carrington...lettered four years...as a senior averaged 28 points, six assists, five steals and four rebounds...as a junior averaged 15 points, five assists, four steals and 3.5 rebounds...holds school record for most points scored in a game (51), scored over 1500 points in her career and was a McDonald's All-American Nominee...served as Team Captain all four years

UConn women’s basketball sophomore forward Piath Gabriel has entered the transfer portal, a source confirmed to The UConn Blog.
A member of the Huskies’ 2020 recruiting class, Gabriel came to Storrs as a project big who had the physical tools at 6-foot-5 but needed to develop her skill set.
She's from Manchester, NH and probably played against Angelique. You can't each height and I have no problem taking someone from UConn who didn't get a lot of playing time.
