Final we win 61 - 56. First time we beat them since 2011, 13 straight losses to them. Breen only had 2 points in the 1st half wound up with 18.

I'm not sure if they said 2010 or 2011 since we last beat Fordham -- I believe that means it was either Marnie Dacko's last year or Sharon Dawley's first year?

Destiney is so improved -- I have said that in almost every one of my posts this year, haha. Ber'Nyah is well positioned to carry on that mantle when Destiney graduates. Was hoping to see more of Maeve as I think she is a much better option than Sims. To be honest, I am lukewarm on two of the new transfers (Sims and Oliver) and I have liked the little that I have seen out of the third (Sanderlin).

Also, I would just like to take a "big picture" look. Tory is obviously the person to get the job done in Amherst -- it seems that in his first 3 years, every time we lost a game, there were several on this board calling for his firing. To say that he inherited a dumpster fire from Sharon is an insult to dumpster fires -- the sky is the limit with this team.

That was a signature win! Coming from 12 down to dominate a team that had beaten you 13 in a row is quite an accomplishment. Fordham has been a nemisis for years for our ladies in basketball and softball.

I can't imagine what the Fordham coach was think letting Sam have all those close-in shots in the second half and never considered doubling her. "UMass is 1-for-12 from three, so let's keep guarding against them and let Breen and White roam free underneath." Good plan.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Since you mentioned “big picture” and “dumpster fire”, and while I will not going to dwell on this, wanted to make sure you have a key fact.....Dawley recruited Leidel , #2 AllTime Leading Scorer in program history, and she was a big part of TV’s teams.....

^ How bout the fact Leidel picked UMass over Tori Verdi at Eastern Michigan and Haley's from Travers City, Michigan!

Yes, I am aware of the Leidel angle -- I've been a season ticket holder since the Dacko days. Without too much of a back and forth, I don't think Sharon would have been able to get as much out of Hailey as Tory did. Sharon ended her tenure here with someone who would end up being national player of the week and take UBuffalo to the Sweet 16. Also, most of Sharon's "good" players did not stay for their full 4 years and it was pretty obvious with Dillard/Stallworth that Sharon did not have the buy-in of the players. What Tory did that first year with basically 5 basketball players plus Megan Burke from the soccer team was simply remarkable.

If we can go 2-2 in the next 4 we are in great shape. We are away for all four at: VCU, Richmond, Dayton, SLU. The schedule then gets a bit tamer as we have home games against St. Joe's, LaSalle, GW and GMU.

The chances of all of these games being played as scheduled; practically zero.

Will the A-10 final standings for seeding into the tournament be done by winning percentage assuming that not all games are played and not all teams play the same number of games?

I'm a little surprised that there isn't more chatter about this team. They're good and they're fun to watch. Big game tonight at VCU who is 4-0 in conference. VCU is favored by 3.5. They have a 6'6 center but she hasn't played much.
