Re: COVID-19 Discussion
UMass donated 3,200 ponchos to Milford Regional Medical Center over the weekend. This was a great thing to see yesterday... it made me so proud of UMass and loved that the school is supporting my community.
Stop waiting for UMass to do something big and help UMass do something big. - Shades

Proud of all the doctors and nurses dealing with these overwhelming odds. I also want to commend all of the state governors around the country, especially Governor Cuomo. These are the actual politicians that are earning their money and keeping this country going. They are working their asses off.

We've finally gotten above the line of doubling new cases every three days, so there is that. I still like this interactive graphic, especially the linear graphic. Seems to be telling the numbers story pretty well. Doesn't seem to be a major issue south of the equator. Granted, a lot depends on reporting.

They should and will get sued for such false information. You have to be very mentally weak or uneducated to still believe and follow Fox News.

Agreed. One of the main reasons I avoid Fox, CNN and MSNBC. They’re all spewing their political bs disguised as news.inthescoop wrote: ↑Sun Apr 12, 2020 6:09 pmThey should and will get sued for such false information. Re: COVID-19 Discussion
“We have a president. That was a big decision. We ran away from having a king, and George Washington was president, not King Washington. So the president doesn’t have total authority.” Andrew Cuomo. He is 100% correct. So if people say Trump has blood on his hands, doesn't Cuomo for not shutting NY down earlier? After all the President doesn't have the authority...
Re: COVID-19 Discussion
Is Cuomo telling people his response has been perfect or creating a revisionist history where he treated it as serious as necessary from the beginning? Is he ignoring the consensus opinion about whether or not it's a good idea to get people back to work so soon?TheInsider wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 8:56 am “We have a president. I mean yeah, most leaders around the world (outside of places like Taiwan) have at least partially failed in the response to this. The question is how we move forward from here. Are we going to try to open things back up too early and be risky about it or are we going to continue to treat this like the threat it is?
Re: COVID-19 Discussion
How about the growing evidence that this in fact did not start in the Wuhan wet market but at one of virology labs? China has blood on its hands and they are barring any independent investigation from the outside. But CNN leads with the irrelevant ramblings of Trump daily and keeps ignoring this. That’s a joke.

Here's a very short happy song about washing your hands...
by my friend Cathy Richardson. Cathy has been the lead singer for Jefferson Starship for the past dozen years, hired by the late, great Paul Kantner, and fully endorsed by the one and only Grace Slick, whose songs Cathy bellows out so very well.

None of that is actually evidence and is merely conspiracy theories and conjecture because people just want to blame someone.Quann wrote: ↑Tue Apr 14, 2020 10:55 am How about the growing evidence that this in fact did not start in the Wuhan wet market but at one of virology labs? The fact that it's naturally occurring and no one has ever had it before means it wasn't engineered in a lab and that it wasn't like the viruses that are stored in those labs: those labs hold very dangerous pathogens and such, but they're ones that were put in there after infecting people. In certain parts of China they have their own conspiracy theories that it was brought to them from another country (one blames the US military) in order to stop their growth as a country.
And is CNN ignoring that China is holding information? Nope: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/12/asia/chi ... index.html
Also to dispel a myth: wet markets aren't what people think they are - they're fairly close to what we have over here as farmers markets:
