"ZooMass" Is No More

I'm amazed that this was allowed to be published in the Globe. Take the time to read it all!

Great article. Terrible headline, but great article. Thanks for posting.

Swamy has been the best thing to happen to UMass for as long as I can remember. What a great visionary. (I liked Holub, but he pissed off too many people.)

I knew that author's name rang a bell. He wrote a book about Charlestown High's hoop team about 10 years ago called "The Assist". One of the best sports books I have ever read-I'd put it up there with Woj's "Miracle at St Anthony" and Darcy Frey's "The Last Shot"

I just took a quick glance, thought I saw "Swampy" and spit up my coffee. In all seriousness, I do think that Swampy is a very valuable member of the UMass community, just not in Swamy's class.

All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

LMAOOOO. I too have a great appreciation for Swampy and also concur with the limited magnitude of his impact.

Pats are in the Super Bowl again, so the old ZooMass might rear its head once more on Feb 3. The Globe will pounce on any "riot" story.

^

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think the coverage of the WS celebration a few months ago was bad.

The Pats have been in the Super Bowl three of the four years I've been here. I can't recall anything truly ridiculous happening.

So was the campus quiet last night after the Pats won the super bowl?

^ I don't live on campus anymore, and I wasn't on campus last night. But from what I heard it just fairly normal celebrating. Nothing remotely newsworthy. Not that the "riots" the last few years have really been newsworthy anyway.

People gathered in Southwest and were chanting/cheering, obviously. But I didn't hear of anything violent or dangerous.

There was a bonfire at the townhouses. That's about it I think.

So pretty standard celebrations. That's what has occurred each year, except for two years: the one year that idiots flipped the car, and the one year that moron jumped off of Berkshire.
