Just went into my daughter's room and lit her brand new Nike's on fire. She was crying but I told her it was for the troops-Kaepernick

That's probably fine, we're an Adidas school anyhow.

I legitimately can’t believe how many fucking gullible idiots have helped Colin Kaepernick go from being a shitty QB to an “icon” because he kneeled for a song & said police brutality is bad. It’s insane. This country is so goddamn stupid. Support the troops, respect the flag!

Instead of burning their Nike's, people who disagree with the ad campaign ought to donate the products to homeless shelters/organizations.

It is insane that he is being persecuted " because he kneeled for a song & said police brutality is bad".

Nike,

I could handle the fact that you've abused children in sweatshops for decades, but endorsing Colin Kaepernick is where I draw the line.

What's insane is persecuting someone for excersizing his 1st amendment rights.

The flag represents a country that offers that right, among others, and troops fight and die to protect those rights.

He disrespected neither the flag nor the troops by kneeling.

How was he “persecuted”? Whenever he speaks about what he hoped to accomplish, he sounds like a rambling moron who is constantly changing his story. I barely had any Nike gear to begin with but I’ll definitely make a point of not purchasing any going forward.

Glad you think so. To bad you can't tell that to all the deceased troops who fought for our freedom. Fuck Kaepernick...piece of shit he is. HONOR THE FLAG....SUPPPORT THE TROOPS! THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH RACE!

^^ The fact that no team in the NFL will hire him because of his protest is either persecution or discrimination. Take your pick. Denying him employment in his field because of his protests is just as wrong as doing so because of race, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation or anything else unrelated to the bona fide occupational qualifications of the job.

^ “They fought for our freedom”. There you said it... the very freedom that Kaepernick is choosing to exercise.

I’m not saying that anyone has to agree with him. But as Americans we all have to agree that he is well within his rights in doing what he is doing.

This is a perfect summation of what is wrong with the United States of America. People don't understand that fighting for America is NOT fighting for the flag. Fighting for America is fighting to protect the United States Constitution. The United States Constitution's First Amendment protects the right to BURN THE FLAG. That is a Constitutional fact supported by the SCOTUS. There have been plenty of veterans who have very publicly supported Colin Kaepernick and his right to protest during the National Anthem (a form of protest, by the way, that was specifically chosen to be respectful - kneeling). It takes a special kind of person to misunderstand this.

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed .

So Kaepernick wearing socks depicting cops as pigs last year is his constitutional right also? Every military person I know despises that son of a bitch-and I come from a military family....
