So the crusades were responsible for the mass murder of many other religions in the name of the...... Holy Cross.

I can't believe you went and picked the Minutemen/Minutewomen is offensive scab. It took me 14 years to get over the pain that we couldn't save a generation children from being forced to hear and see the word "Minuteman". Screw getting over stuff that happened 700 years before I was born, this wound is fresh.

Crusaders does not have a solo definition of 'one that slaughtered innocents during the holy wars .

cru·sad·er
kro͞oˈsādər/Submit
noun
1.a fighter in the medieval Crusades.
synonyms: campaigner, fighter, champion, advocate; reformer
2.a person who campaigns vigorously for political, social, or religious change; a campaigner.
"crusaders for early detection and treatment of mental illness"

You could say that students and faculty are crusaders against the crusader mascot.

I am offended by the mascot of Boston's NBA team. I am sure somewhere in the fist millennium a bunch of Celts killed a bunch of Romans.

Sadly, someone will complain about this mascot one of these days.

Even though I'm not personally offended by their mascot, I can totally understand why those at Holy Cross might want to change it. After all, it is a symbol of a not-so-positive aspect of human history, and it is the right of those in the Holy Cross community to voice how they want their institution represented.

I brought signs to the game last year in Worcester.
After displaying the BEHIND THE ARK sign...
a large basketball behind a Noah like ark...

an HC official came over to me and asked me to stop the signs...

Some of our fans speculated it was too (anti) Biblical for them...

I guess this thread disproves that theological postulate...

(I put the signs away after that)...
Unlike Harvard this year, who welcomed "our" signs despite banning student signs...

the band plans on...
let it snow
let it snow
