Why should Kraft build them their own stadium versus just using Gillette as they do? Is there any way that results in a positive financial result for Kraft?
My guess is that you've never been to a soccer stadium correct? It is a huge difference in terms of the environment and atmosphere at the game, especially for club soccer.
Also, just to have a place called Home is HUGE for the team's fanbase and morale. It's been over 20 years, and Kraft is still the only one to not show any progression in the MLS.

Didn't he try to get this done in Somerville a few years back but it never really got off the ground?

Could potentially get more international games with a stadium that uses real grass instead of turf. All the international superstars hate playing at Gillette because of this.
This is a good reason, thank you. I've been to several soccer matches at Gillette and I get it is not a great atmosphere since the top bowl is completely closed off. It is not a great atmosphere for UMass football this way either, but it is more than usable.
If playing in Gillette is limiting the international friendlies they can host and preventing players from wanting to join the Revs then that is a legitimate business reason for building a new stadium, IMO. Also, as Quann said, I though they were working on a stadium in or around Boston that never really went anywhere. Was that only part of the Boston Olympic bid or was it a serious attempt that never went anywhere?

Gillette is always included when the Gold Cup comes around, has gotten friendlies and will be involved in 2026. They bring in grass for international games.
More season ticket holders, better attendance would be better reasons for a SSS.

They bring in grass, yet still nothing but complaints about the quality of the field. It gets used for these games because it's a large stadium in an area of the country that does a decent job at filling it up.

Mr. Kraft at a rub and tug establishment? Human trafficking? Wonder if Trump was involved. This could get rather ugly.

You didn't hear? Putin stole these girls out of their mothers arms when they were barely a week old. Trained them himself. Then Kraft personally financed their purchase into sex trafficking and Trump ordered the FBI to turn a blind eye to the whole thing.
Or..... Kraft made a stupid (because he got caught) decision and went to what was very obviously a known rub and tug and got busted and that's the beginning, middle and end of his involvement.

Why the fuck would a guy with his money go to a place like that? You'd think that if thats what he's looking for, he'd just arrange something a bit more discretely. Dumb

HAHAHA! Yeah, let’s make this about Donald Trump. Trump Derangement Syndrome at its best. What? Where’s the comments about Elizabeth Warren scamming Native Americans? I guess it doesn’t fit the narrative.

The human trafficking element is disgusting though. I think Bob had the misfortune of wandering into the wrong place at wrong time. Not the brightest thing he’s ever done.
