Ortiz

Post by Cahoonaville » Sun May 22, 2016 6:07 pm

Nothing suspicious about the year he is having right? Come on, guy couldn't catch up with a 90mph fastball to save his life not to long ago...Guy is a phony!

About 2 weeks ago I mentioned to my wife that I hoped MLB had a specimen bottle ready with Ortiz's name on it. Meanwhile, the Yankees are approaching .500!

I'd be suspicious if he decides he isn't retiring and demands some ridiculous contract.

Ted Williams hit .316 with 29 home runs in his last year after hitting .254 and 10 the year before. I bet he was juicing too. Fucking Yankee fans.

Yankee fans...
explain Mariano Rivera's 44 Saves @ age 43...
was he on the Age +1 Plan?

Everyone hitting in the lineup helps Ortiz more than you think. Can't pitch around him as much so he's getting better stuff to hit. JBJ. Shaw, Hanley, Xander, Mookie, Pedrosa all killing it right now only makes it easier for Papi

I know the whole purpose of this thread was to troll Red Sox fans, but I'm pretty sure I read that Ortiz DID give a sample a couple of weeks ago. So if you could just open wide and suck on that, thanks.

I think that the Sox have an option year on Ortiz if he would change his mind and decide to stay another year.

Ortiz also looks like he lost a bunch of weight and got himself in great shape for his final season.

No doubt that Ortiz has been tested at least once this season. No way he's on PED's.

Written by a Yankees fan, what a surprise

Not surprising that a DH whose not the most athletic guy is a little thicker at age 40 than his 20's. I'm sure he does more weight training than cardio.
Ortiz wouldn't have these #'s if that lineup wasn't so good, just can't pitch around him

Such a troll article it't not even funny.. 87% of his at bats are after his age 26 season - shocking that that's when most of his production came. Let's not even get started on moving to a much better lineup and hitters ball park. Hitting in the Red Sox lineup provides MUCH more protection than hitting in the Twinkies lineup.

Also, I'm pretty sure Ortiz is going to face the same level of skepticism as Bagwell and Piazza when it comes time for HOF voting. Like I said, this article was such a blatant troll/ click-bait job. Wish I didn't give him the click.

"I’m not saying that David Ortiz definitely did steroids for most or all of his time with the Red Sox" is a dynamite sentence though.

They should all be using steroids. Baseball was way more fun when Sosa, McGuire, Anderson, Ortiz, Bagwell, A-Rod, Giambi, Canseco, Palmiero, and the rest of the steroid crew were crushing homers.

Just my personal opinion, but that was the best time to be watching baseball.
Looking forward to the 2022 UMass Football Season (Oh boy, just jinxed that one)

This Sox team is fun to watch. They hit for power, hit for average, run the bases well, steal bases, and play solid defense. If they can shore up the starting pitching, they have a real shot to do something this year
