Re: UM Athletics Sports Luncheons
Please join us for the weekly UMass Sports Luncheon Wednesday, October 21st, in the Jim and Ellen Hunt Hospitality Room of the Football Performance Center.
Again this week there were a number of worthy nominations citing UMass athletes’ exemplary performances for the week. Please join us in congratulating our Dinn Brothers Co-Athletes of the Week:
Dennis Kravchenko, Ice Hockey; and
Rebekka Sverrisdottir, Women’s Soccer.
The awards will be presented at the luncheon
This week’s featured speakers are Head Football Coach Mark Whipple and UMass Marching Bank Director Tim Anderson. Coach Whipple will look ahead to Saturday’s game at Gilletee Stadium with 20th ranked Toledo. It will be Band Day, so it is fitting that we will hear from Tim Anderson about this year’s performance.
The luncheon will take place from noon - 1:15 p.m. The program generally begins about 12:15 p.m. Parking is available for free in Lots 10, 11, and 12 located close to the Football Performance Center. A buffet lunch will be served for $14/ person.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR NEXT WEEK’S LUNCHEON (October 28TH): Athletic Director Ryan Bamford is scheduled to speak along with Head Football Coach Mark Whipple.

Re: UM Athletics Sports Luncheons
Per Bamford the hockey band starts in November. I wasn't there I saw it on Twitter.
Re: UM Athletics Sports Luncheons
Just guessing, but after the 11/7 football game at Gillette, which coincides with UConn at home for hockey, the coast is clear for a hockey band.
"Jack didn’t have any envy in him," Calipari said. "He was the greatest coach to ever coach here."

Re: UM Athletics Sports Luncheons
Are they still doing the luncheons?
Re: UM Athletics Sports Luncheons
Yes, even though you moved south they decided to continue the tradition.

Re: UM Athletics Sports Luncheons
Hadn't seen 69MG post the info as he was doing earlier. I did make it to the luncheon before the home coming weekend game. Sure is sad to see how small the crowd has gotten the past few years. I can remember when Coach Cal was here you had to have reservations a lot of times or you could not get in. Don't know if I will ever make another one but if I am in the area for any reason I will surly go to one.
Re: UM Athletics Sports Luncheons
I'll start up again, but I'll keep it shorter. No need to post the entire EMail.
