1. Would you want anyone else but Leonard on a breakaway?
2. Lindberg stole us a game tonight. If Murray plays tomorrow, Lindberg has wrapped up Hockey East Goalie of the Week.

Love to take another one tomorrow and send them back to Chestnut Hill in tears.

I loved hearing the "U----Mass" cheers raining down in Conte! Loud and clear on the NESN telecast. I was part of the same at Harvard for hoops a few weeks ago. Strangely, last night, on Jan 10th, that was already our last Boston regular season appearance of the season.

Fille was outstanding last night, but I am starting Murray tonight. If this is the most important regular season weekend in the players' eyes, for confidence reasons Matt needs to be in goal.

It WAS great OC to hear that on TV. Very loud, very clear. Lindberg was freakin' outstanding last night.

How sweet would the weekend be with a hockey sweep of BC, girls hoop continue their win streak, and Matty McNuggets leads the men to a big upset at Dayton?

Lose 3 out of 4 against 2 of the best teams in college hockey, and still end up gaining a little ground in PWR, where we now sit at #8. Overall we played decent hockey for the most part in the 4 games. Tonight, however, the defense gave up way too many open, point blank shots. With 12 games remaining, I believe they need to win a minimum of 18 points. They need to sweep Vermont, even though it is there, and should have a solid shot at sweeping UNH, despite losing one there earlier this season.

As for issues, coming out slow and depending on dominating in the third period is not going to work most times against top quality opponents. The power play famine has become critical. After tonight's BC game, the team now sits at at 11-82 on the PP...that's 13.4 percent or 50th in D1 hockey. If the PP problem isn't solved, this team is going nowhere in the postseason.

Last night's BC game at the Mullins Center was hard to watch. BC absolutely destroyed us on the power play. They were able to set up within our zone creating numerous scoring chances. When we were on the power play, we were lucky to get a shot on goal. BC seems to be bigger and more talented team.

^^^
BC has 10 NHL draft picks, including several first rounders. In terms of actual talent, there is no comparison. This year, as opposed to the last 3, York actually has them playing as a team rather than a collection of all stars out only for themselves. Still, we split the weekend series and get them in Amherst for the rubber match on 1/31. We put up 5 goals on a top 3 goalie in the country. I’ll take that any time. Unfortunately, the defense gave up way too many prime scoring chances last night. The biggest problem on this team is the impotent power play.

Huge jump from 8 to 5 (tied with BC) in PWR after last night's win.

Took care of business against Vermont this weekend. Need some revenge against UNH next weekend.

We remain barely on top of the HE standings, but BC has two games in hand. We have scored the second most goals of the league teams over the entire season, and given up the second least.

Weekend sweep jumps us up to 6th in PWR. I honestly thought we were never going to score a power play goal. Maybe Kessel’s last night will break the dam. UNH is pretty good. A sweep next weekend would be Impressive.
