Hockey East coaches voted unanimously to have all 11 teams qualify for the playoffs beginning next season. AD’s still have to approve. I think this is a bad move.

They play themselves twice.

I'll put this here just it keep it current. A simple secret to success from Coach Carvel:

I have the quote to back this up, too. Kurt Keats during the NCAA Tournament. "When Carv first came in, he preached no dickheads."
How do we transfer this to BB? We have had our share in the last several years.

Ryan's response to "no dickheads":

Ryan Bamford @UMassADBamford
Replying to @CoachCarvelUM
Amazing how that works...

Chip Malafronte @ChipMalafronte
College hockey scheduling change: UMass, citing a scheduling error, backed out of non-league game at Yale this fall. Instead, Yale will play at Boston College.

Agree. Hate it as well. Love having there be something on the line for the games towards the end of the regular season (and really every conference game throughout the year).

Pretty in-depth. Don't feel confident in losing two defensemen of NHL caliber, including the best in the country (might not be done yet, either til after the NHL draft) and only adding in one defenseman. Unless the plan is to win 5-3!

Gianfranco Cassaro is another defenseman who will be here next year.

Jayson Dobay should also be here next season.

Plus, there’s still time to bring in a grad transfer the way Carvey brought Pritchard in late.

Are either of these two NHL caliber? If they both aren’t, then it is a step down.

They may or may not be, but that doesn't mean they can't help keep opponent scoring down and help the team win.

Of course it's a step down. We're talking about replacing 2 of the best D men in program history. If they can be 80% of who they are replacing we'll be fine. Hopefully, some of the slack will be made up by the development of many of last year's underclassmen who were already pretty good.
