^ When your program has advanced to a National Championship game and you have aspirations of remaining at that level, your recruiting level needs to be at a top level. You can't just expect players who were not NHL caliber players to develop into NHL caliber players. You need to recruit them as previously. Getting to the National Championship game is a huge accomplishment in any sport. Staying there is much tougher!

Jayson Dobay should also be here next season.

Plus, there’s still time to bring in a grad transfer the way Carvey brought Pritchard in late.
Are either of these two NHL caliber? If they both aren’t, then it is a step down.
Just answering your post that stated the program is only adding one defenseman. Pretty much anyone who joins will be a step down from Makar and Ferraro.

Who says they aren't recruiting at that level? Maybe this class doesn't have that but who says they won't have that in the next class?

And no, you can't expect all players to develop into professional caliber players, but that doesn't mean it can't happen.

Lets not get all worked up right now... we'll see how the summer plays out and what they look like going into the preseason. While Makar may have fallen into his lap a bit, I trust in what Carvel is doing from both a recruiting and coaching perspective. We all should.

Be a great T-shirt, but of course would offend somebody.

Sorry, didn't realize that. Saw the official mention from UMass today and went with it.

They’ve officially announced three forwards. Should be three defensemen coming up — Jones, Cassaro and Dobay. Think there is one more forward, Jeremy Davidson.

Interesting - 5 forwards coming in next year and so far only one D man (I expect 2 more). Team only loses 3 forwards, so with 5 coming in, the competition is going to be interesting. If 3 D men come on board, that will counter the three we lost, at least in numbers.

These are the new guys who are expected to join the team this year. Most of them committed a while ago and the Athletic Dept. has decided to announce them 1 at a time.

Don’t think this list is accurate...I believe Sullivan will be here next year and not sure Reifenberg is even a commit anymore...

^ If they keep up the daily announcements, we'll know everyone within a week. It's interesting how different hockey recruiting is than BB.
