Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
^ I watched Ryan's second "Coffee With The Coaches" today. Carvy was quite animated talking about the grad transfer coming. I guess that the show was taped before the anouncement, so no name was used. He compared Carson to Jake Pritchard - an older leadership guy.

Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
I think Gicewicz will be really nice add. Does anyone know if Ryan Sullivan is coming this year? On Bamford's show, Carvel mentioned 3 forwards and 2 defensemen definitely coming this year. Lopina and MacDonald should be 2 of the forwards (and 2 good ones at that), but then that leaves Ryan Lautenbach and Ryan Sullivan. Based on their stats and ages, it seems like both would be ready to go this year. Curious if anyone has any insight on which one of them is coming this year, or if both are.

Sullivan signed his NLI and is coming. Lautenbach may not have signed yet but is also likely to come in next seasonCarsonL726 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 11, 2020 11:40 am I think Gicewicz will be really nice add. 2020 draft prospect Lucas Mercuri has officially narrowed down his college choices to UMass and Wisconsin. Final decision coming soon
There’s also a big recruit back on the market after Lucas Mercuri de-committed from Vermont. Mercuri, who is from Quebec, originally committed to former UVM head coach Kevin Sneddon; he played for the Salisbury School this past season and is scheduled to play for Des Moines in the USHL next season.
“Mercuri is a big strong forward with a brain,” said our scouts. “He finds the quiet areas off of the cycle very naturally. On line rushes he reads the defensmen’s gaps very well and will not force plays, but instead takes what is given and makes the opposition pay. His cannon of a shot is accurate and he can fire it through screens while his feet are moving. At this point he is almost too strong physically for NE Prep competition and appears ready for Junior Hockey.”

Lucas Mercuri, "Big, strong and with a brain"! Sounds like a great recruit for our team. Not sure if he's coming for the 20-21 or the 21-22 season. But, what the hell.

Re: Recruiting -- 2018 and beyond
I guess coach Carvel sees something in him. He's a big kid, a 6'2, 210 forward who played in 14 games last year. He had 9 shots on goal and zero points. However, his +/- was only -1 so maybe he's a defensive specialist.

We just picked up a goalie for 2020-2021. In the article it mentions that we recently lost a goalie. Anyone know which one?
