I don't know what this team will end up being but I've really enjoyed watching this team so far through 4 games (well 3, I missed the BU game). Started a little slow tonight, especially finding our way to the box again which has happened too much this season. However, our own power play was outstanding today. 4 PP goals. Would really hope to take at least 5 points from Maine over the next 2 weekends.
PS Our game last weekend against Lowell was a HE game right?? HE website doesn't have it up as one in the standings.
no game was not a league game
our 2 league games vs lowell will be later on this season
they scheduled 1 non league game to preserve the alumni cup
only 2 league games vs each team
next weekends games at Maine are non league and our home games vs Maine the following weekend are league games

Nice sweep. Michigan State not a great team and the Minutemen made the most of it. Really impressed with the Pigozzi, Iacobellis, Power line.

Very nice wins for this program. Does anyone know what the attendance was for tonight? Wondering if the Sox game kept people away.

They said it on twitter it was either 5,802 or 5208. I think the first.
Edit: 5,280. I knew it was some combo of those numbers!

First time to a UMass hockey game. Simply drove up at game time and got a seat in the section behind the MSU bench. I thought the students were great, Friday must have been nuts.
Does anyone know what event was happening in the parking lot? I drove though piles of beer cans to get to a spot. There was a tent set up as well.
Oh my god, they love state schools out here.

But Mel...I thought Mick can't recruit?!
I don't give a shit about how good MSU is; that was a nice weekend for UMass hockey.
it's easy to root for a winner...

Pre game tailgate, tied in with a lot of homecoming activities. There were mini celebrations all over campus (ribbon cutting for Commonwealth College, dedication of the George Parks Band Building, Iron Chef Competition at the Campus Center and much much more). It was a fun day to be at UMass.

I am as happy as anyone about the wins. You have to be honest, though, and admit that Michigan State is a pretty bad team -- at least right now. And, it is good that the next four games we play a pretty bad Maine team. Let's see what happens when we play the iron. Hoping for the best, but have zero expectations.

After four games I think the team has shown they have the ability to make this year interesting.
If coach Micheletto can get his team to improve as the year goes on it should be a fun season.

What's wrong with that attendance number going up against the Red Sox in the ALCS

Sorry Jim but that one went right over your head. His post was actually one of the funniest things I have read here in a VERY LONG TIME and I credit him for his sense of humour.
