On to the championship game Sunday after a 1-0 OT victory over Fordham. Fordham scored late in regulation, but it was taken off the board after an offsides call that followed a discussion between the ref and linesman. This homer says the play was definitely offsides!

Men’s soccer is a bright spot in a tough fall Athletics season. I’m impressed with what they’ve done with limited financial resources. Just goes to show you what a good coach is capable of.

Freaking awesome! Watching the first 70 minutes online, and the first 45 had me worried, but an early 2nd half goal settle things down. Really impressed to how the team responded after VCU tied it at 1. Onto the dance!

Bamford is going a great job getting programs to move in a positive direction.

No respect. Minutemen are unseeded, don't get a bye, and will host 10-10-1 Colgate in a first round game Thursday at 1. Meanwhile, VCU, who they beat 3-1 for the A10 championship, gets a bye and a 16 seed.

That makes no sense. Unless VCU had a whale of a non-con schedule.

Here's the bracket. If we win, we play #13 Michigan.

It's great to see "Massachusetts" in the bracket. I wouldn't be surprised to see them advance a couple of rounds.
All due respect, and I mean that from the bottom of my heart, I'm gonna pass.

Rooting for the boys!

Anyone know why the soccer tournament isn't 64 teams?

^ Will be rooting for the boys and it's a free live stream through UMass Athletics! This kid Davis Smith is unbelievable; a 6'6 frosh with a non-stop motor whose all over the field! He's a weapon most teams don't have and I'm psyched!

Weather is supposed to suck in Amherst at game time.

On and off rain with temps in the mid-40s. Worst of it is expected to be late morning through early afternoon.

The game is live and free on Facebook.

Watching the Facebook live feed. I know they're trying, and I feel bad saying it, but the announcing is near "boom goes the dynamite" levels of terrible. Emotionally devoid descriptions of the play on the field.

I don't watch a lot of soccer, but if it's not JP Dellacamera on the call, or a good British guy, it doesn't capture my attention.

Down 1, Colgate just scored.

And yes, the announcers are pretty bad. I assume they are students... and likely thrown into this.
