Won the A 10 championship today and move on to the NCAA tournament. At least one team is doing good.

It is utter SHIT that the women get the #1 seed if they win against Jacksonville. They should be a lot higher in the bracket than that. That basically says that us and Jacksonville were the lowest two teams in the bracket and I can not believe that with the record we had, that we are one of the worst two teams in the bracket. I didn't think that the women's side had the same bullshit elitism that the men's side does but apparently they do. We lost ONE game all year and we're one of the two lowest teams in the bracket??? Are you kidding me? I guess looking at our competition, we beat A LOT of scrubs. But still, one of the two lowest??

6-3 lead at the half. It was tight until 3-3 and then we scored three in the last few minutes of the half.

The second half was much like the first. The game remained close - within two goals at 9-7 - until we scored three in a row late.

I wonder if the FOGO can moonlight for the men's team. We won 17 of 23.

The announcers said that eight Jax players are from Maryland. It looks like we were playing gals not recruited by the Terps.

Maryland clearly showed they were the better team today. 19-8 loss for the women's lax team. Tough way to end the season, but they had a good overall year.

Congrats to the Women's lacrosse team this year. Tough draw in the 2nd round against a top notch Maryland team. Best of luck in 2016!

Congrats on a great season! This women's sport is now the bell weather program of the school's athletic department since out of 21 sports they are the ONLY team to even MAKE the NCAA Tournament! The sad state of the athletic department is very demoralizing and it will take some time to get back to being competitive in all sports. The new AD is young and aggressive and with the new President all we can hope for is a steady improvement! GO UMASS!

The A-10 is considered a weak women's lax conference. It wasn't that long ago that they had to win the play-in game to the NCAA's because the A-10 did not have an auto-bid. It's not surprising to see them placed in that position in the tourney.

I'm happy to see women's lax be competitive in their conference. I wonder how the A-10 can improve the conference and how UMass can help the conference do that.

Agreed. It just bums me out that no matter the record, they will always get screwed because they play in an inferior conference. I think they got similarly screwed last year with have an easy opening game and then having to face someone like Northwestern. Auto bids should not have to play that first game, but it's not for me to decide so it is what it is.
