It's a very bad draw since the 1 and 2 seeds don't play on Wednesday which is a big advantage! The A10 a standings say 14-5-1 equals a 72.5% . . . to our 71.4% . Don't get their math either!
UMass played 21 games and won 15 of them. 15 divided by 21 = 71.4% (rounded)

Dayton played 20 games and won 14 of them. 14 divided by 20 is 70%. BUT...they also had a tie, which is counted as a half. So the math is 14.5 divided by 20, which is 72.5%.

They have a better winning percentage, they get the higher seed, head to head record means nothing as they are not tied.

That sucks . . . if they count a half towards the wins they should add a half more to the total ie: 14.5 by 20.5 equals 70.7!

They didn't play an extra half game though, they only played 20 and tied one, which goes down as a half for win% purposes.

It is what it is.

^^you add half a win and half a loss...so 14-5-1 translates to 14.5-5.5.

1. Why did they play fewer games
2. Why did they tie a game

Looks like they have really turned the season around. Hope they can earn the A10 championship!

All in all a pretty good season, which didn't look like a possibility early on. Looking for even more improvement next season!
